I love the fact you show your daughter a lot of useful skills that will help her with employment prospects and her pocketbook. Most people just let their kids finance expensive cars, take it to a mechanic, and get into a lot of debt.

Awesome job guys, sure, it's not a pro level but it looks 95% better and sometime, it's just good enough. When ever I do a DIY paint job on my cars I always say that in the worst case, I'll take it to a paint shop.

My clear coat is peeling very badly on the hood of my 2001 Toyota 4Runner and I really had no clue what to do. I considered getting a professional paint job or attempting to buy a new hood that matches my car. Although after watching your video I think I have what it takes to just do it myself. You made it seem very easy and simple. I’m slightly worried about the amount of sanding but I think after doing some more research I will be fine. Thank you!

Id have gone with more coats of the clear. When you watch people on youtube with their paint booths and their 3 coats, with a spray can its more like 5 or 6 coats you need. But wet sand the clear coat with 1500, then 2000, then 2500, then cut with the cutting compound, then buff with polish and it will look shiny.

Your excessive verbal explanation is patronizing to that poor girl. You literally leave her no room to feel invested or competent in this process on HER vehicle. I hope you don't treat everyone like this (like infants)? You seem like you don't get enough exposure to young people in teaching situations. If you had, you would simplify your instruction and provide guidance, not authoritative directives. And, treat people as if they're intelligent.
@jamesdean56772 жыл бұрын
Painting is a real hassle. Do you have any idea how many years it takes to get as good as this guy using just spray paint cans? He has to compress all of this knowledge into a short session. If they get this wrong, all of these steps need to be completed again at double the cost in terms of time and materials. This is collectively a high risk and expensive job not including the incredible amount of preparation and cleanup that takes place off camera which we are not privy to.
