You have a video on setting up your striker 4 fish finder for ice fishing. Would like to see a video on how you /to set up the striker 4 for Kokanee and lake trout. Thanks

Great idea. I'll put that on my list of videos to make. 👍

What size downrigger ball are you running ?
@FougereFamilyAdventures Жыл бұрын
I run 10lb downrigger balls, but 6lb downrigger balls would work well if you're not double stacking.

Ben this must have been before the fires , my guess June when they had all that rain. i am waiting for the all clear before I head back to the Cariboo from the Kootenays . Likely will be Sometime In September. I have not fished Sulphurous or Hawthaway yet, no excuses after 40 yrs in the area, but every time I see you and your family having fun and catching fish it brings good memories of my time fishing with the family. I can remember, back in the 60's cutting trail /road to get our bronco 4x4 into Bowers lake for some great fishing for rainbows. Its all good in the Cariboo. Keep making videos

I'm glad you liked it. There are so many great lakes to fish in British Columbia. It's hard to schedule the time to "try and fish them all." Stay tuned to our channel. I have a few more videos of kokanee and lake trout coming before the fall rainbow season begins.

I have the Okuma Avelon fishing without downriggers with the same dodger and hoochie setup. How much like should I have out to get to 30 feet of water hope you can help thanks.

There are charts on the internet that you can find which will tell you how much weight you need compared to the speed you are going. Also, if you use a heavier Luhr Jensen dodger (their 6 inch skateboard dodger), it will also get you close to the strike zone. Kokanee are curious fish and will come up from depth to investigate your dodger even if it's at 15 to 25ft.

What do you have your garmin set for when you were fishing for the lakers? Did you set it to the Ice Fishing display or kept it traditional? Thanks!
@FougereFamilyAdventures2 жыл бұрын
I always use my fish finder on the traditional screen. I like to enable the A-scope setting as well to see "real time" data on top of historical data.
@mlinder852 жыл бұрын
@@FougereFamilyAdventures Yea that is how I have it set up as well, I just find that if I am not moving it can cause some funny results after the A-scope portion.
@FougereFamilyAdventures2 жыл бұрын
@@mlinder85 that's interesting. What results are you seeing? My Garmin has been working great.

@@FougereFamilyAdventures If I sit in one spot, one fish will show up as a solid line across, as if the fish stops underneath the boat and it is constantly being pinged.
