This whole video on waqf without ever mentioning the actual waqf? So what’s the actual source of income from the waqf? 🤔
@Fatoumata3355 ай бұрын
That we as Muslims should put a greater emphasis on organizing and surveillancing projects that are of importance and make it so these things become institutional and harder to break down.

@@aelhaji It seems like the income from local shops and properties funded the masjid. From wikipedia: Most of the existing houses in the city and the area of the future Topkapı Palace were endowed to the corresponding waqf.[19] From 1478, 2,360 shops, 1,300 houses, 4 caravanserais, 30 boza shops, and 23 shops of sheep heads and trotters gave their income to the foundation.[119] Through the imperial charters of 1520 (AH 926) and 1547 (AH 954), shops and parts of the Grand Bazaar and other markets were added to the foundation.

@@Super03-v1s Why does the video not mention this? It was a bit painful to watch with much anticipation what makes this waqf a waqf but instead the focus is on how the money is spent, not how it is sourced. The whole idea of a waqf is that it supposed to be self-funded.

For those who are curious about the actual income sources which funded the Waqf: it seems like the income from local shops and properties funded the masjid. As the operation grew more demanding, additional sources were included. From wikipedia (not 100% trustworthy, but a decent way to start researching): Most of the existing houses in the city and the area of the future Topkapı Palace were endowed to the corresponding waqf.[19] From 1478, 2,360 shops, 1,300 houses, 4 caravanserais, 30 boza shops, and 23 shops of sheep heads and trotters gave their income to the foundation.[119] Through the imperial charters of 1520 (AH 926) and 1547 (AH 954), shops and parts of the Grand Bazaar and other markets were added to the foundation.

Mehmed Al-Fatih was keen to adopt the best military technology at the time when most were choosing to ignore it (cannons). The man who engineered these cannons was a non Muslim named Orban. His cannons brought down the walls of Constantinople. Today Muslims need to look to the invention of Satoshi nakamoto, to bring down the walls of Riba currencies and banking.

To correct a common misconception, Constantinople isn't İstanbul, it's a smaller part of today's Mega City İstanbul.

All cities grow over time. Had it stayed as Constantinople, it too would have grown into the mega city that is today's Istanbul. But it'd be interesting to know what the specific borders were to visit it and what remains.

@@thebeast9180 fittingly the name of the district is named "Fatih". And if you think about it, it makes sense that it's where the Aya Sofya (English Hagia Sophia) is, right? 🙂 I'm a Turk (and 1/4 Kurd) born outside of Türkiye so I had to teach these things to myself.

@@thebeast9180By the way, no I don't think that Constantinople would become something like İstanbul without becoming part of the Ottoman Empire lol. Do you realize that İstanbul has more population than whole countries like Bulgaria or Greece? As I said, it's a Mega City.

Please explain, why Turkey's economy is a mess??
@jondo76805 ай бұрын
Local Missmanagement + attacks on our economic from outside. Being the State hosting the most refugees in the world and being hit by 2 big earthquake also didn't help the economy. Don't get me wrong I don't hate our refuge brothers and sisters, I hate others like the Russians who bombed the cities of these refugees, and I hate wannabe Muslims who worship these Russians.
