Eyes closed, at first listen, I could have easily said it was Knopfler. Fantastic job in every respect. There must be hundreds of covers of this song and I've only heard a dozen, or so. Not to demean anyone's presentation effort, but I have to say I'm doubtful I'll ever hear a better one. Kudos Tony. I've been trying to learn this one myself. I'm a long time guitar player but, until the Pandenmic I never advanced to the level of playing leads. COVID and a new high grade acoustic guitar have given my playing a real boost. Learning is slow because there's a lot of stuff I've not heard of involved in trying out solo covers. That's why I love to watch the KZbin presentations. Seeing other musicians interpretations, including the pros, of the tunes I'm studying gives me better sense of the music at a feeling level (beyond puppeting the notes) and shows me some novel techniques and subtle means of musical expression. Thank you.
