brentt Medina their best song IMO, although I have to admit I’m not their biggest fan. This song however is very nostalgic to me so I had to pay homage to it.

@@90sPunkRockCovers Anytime mate! Also, for some reason I always remembered the guitar solo being played with a harmony/dual guitars, but turns out it's just a single guitar, even on the record. That's pretty weird, I guess it was just my imagination. And a missed opportunity for Sum 41 lol.
@90sPunkRockCovers5 жыл бұрын
ippo tsk if I remember correctly, there were a couple of guitar fills that went on top of the solo that I recorded but not filmed on the video, specifically on the last part of the solo there is a dual guitar harmony going on right before the lyrics go “it’s not what you need”. Remember these recordings have tons of guitar layers that sometimes you just can’t pick up by casually listening. I always try to record every little nuisance of the original song but sometimes I can’t show all of that on the video play through, if that makes sense. Anyway thanks again for commenting and for enjoying the cover. Cheers 🍻

Hey Bro sick tone! Im a beginner with Gibsons. Does the les paul custom have better tone than a regular gibson les paul? Whats the closest thing to your guitar in the regular gibson LP range ? Also do you think a jcm800 would get close to this tone or does the mesa make a big difference ?
@90sPunkRockCovers2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I wouldn't say "better" tone, but they just feel and play much better to me. The pickups and historical construction do give it an edge in sound but what I like the most about the Custom Shop are the neck shapes, fret size, and overall feel much more. A JCM800 its an amazing amp but it will never sound like a Rectifier. I would personally own both.

Do you remember what settings you used on the Mesa? Very nice!

Master 9, Presence 1, Bass 11, Mid 12, Treble 1 and Gain 12 all o' clock settings. Tube Screamer Drive 9, Tone 12, Level 2, all o' clock settings. I hope it helps.
