Not really, it's just that they're Canadian and it's unlikely that a band that's not from the USA will hit the big time playing their sort of music. That's all there is to it. Also, in Canada, if you want to see your favourite artists playing shows, it means you have to drive for many hours to go see them. People don't have the time or energy for that.
