Great stuff and well explained as usual. It's interesting Microsoft haven't thought of replacing the GET.CELL function with a standard function that doesn't need a refresh etc. It's really useful, as you demonstrate, but having to save it as xlsm and enabling macros to use it is annoying. It seems there's a growing movement against macros in corporate IT departments, and many companies switch them off by default and only allow them by request....far from ideal for advanced Excel users.

Thank you for this solution, it works great on manually added colors. However, I am looking for something that works on cells where the background color is added via conditional formatting and sadly, this solution doesn’t work here. It always returns 0 (empty).

Thanks for this, very helpful. Just one concern, in the "Get.Cell" function, whenever I changed a color on your example on column D, the "Find Color" value on column E is not updating automatically (ie, I need to double click on cell E4 to refresh the column E data). Is this a limitation on the "Get.Cell" macro or am I missing something?

Hallo Nabil, let us suppose that we changed the color of one specific cell from green to red. I found out, that I need to copy the formula a new time down, so that Excel understands that there was a worksheet change and adjusts the result of addition accordingly. What about TEXT color, i can't seem to get Get.Cell(39,!D4) to work to test the text color of a cell, really wanted it in a lambda function so i can test whatever cell i pick Named range TextColor ...=LAMBDA(CellRef,Get.Cell(39,CellRef)) in my named range, then in the workbook can do =TextColor(A5) or any cell i choose.

By using GET.CELL, not sure why data will be missing after Excel files is saved, leave Excel, and re-open the Excel file. can anyone give an answer ?
