For crown preparations there is slight convergence extra orally and for inlay preparation there is slight divergence given to d walls. The reason to give both these features is that wax pattern should come out easily without any distortion

How many times we can replace the inlay after it gets wear out on same tooth?.. Does every time of replacement more and more tooth structure is drilled?(like normal fillings) Or the old tooth structure is completely conserved and only new inlay is replaced at the place of old?..

It depends upon how carefully you remove the old inlay and the cement lining which is attached to the tooth structure. In case you do not cause any cutting and you remove everything by hand instruments then you don’t need to modify the preparation
