Can I say this was the best demonstration I have watched on installing a rubber roof, well done. Many other videos seem to make this look so complicated and frankly they make a right mess, yours looks great.

great work Jack. Looks amazing. And you are making it look really easy and doable. Smart postponing the glue for the evening. makes a huge difference.

@@sumeraybuilds it’s my 5th video of yours enjoying it so far , tip for next time you do a rubber roof grab a 4inch pipe and wrap the rubber round much easier to roll it out 👊🏽

Looks fabulous! How are you ventilating this roof? …or are you filling it with insulation?
@sumeraybuilds
@sumeraybuilds 7 ай бұрын
Thanks 🙏 I am cladding vertically so there’s 50mm behind the cladding that will go up into that gap I left in the soffit. I’m planning to insulate the roof with PIR board and leave a 50mm gap above that too. I believe this will be plenty for ventilation. But honestly it’s my first time doing this so open to any feedback! 😀

@@sumeraybuilds I went belt and braces with soffit vents too but the gap behind my cladding is only 25mm so probably wouldn’t have been sufficient in my case. I think you’ll need to cut some notches or holes in your noggins so air can flow across the roof! How did you find the contact adhesive on the perimeter of the rubber roof? I left mine for ages to tack off but it still kept causing air pockets once laid. Nightmare. Rubber4roofs just said not to worry about it.
@sumeraybuilds
@sumeraybuilds 7 ай бұрын
@chrisb2443 I did consider soffit vents, I still might. And drilling the noggins seems like a great suggestion for resolving the airflow surrounding them. I did notice some bubbling whilst drying but they’re gone now so I assumed that just happened due to the extreme heat we had that day (23 degrees)

New subscriber here, playing catch up and enjoying the videos! I put a rubber roof on my shed a couple of years ago and it's doing well, glad you found the process as straight forward as I did. I have a question, as I about to build another, much smaller shed (3'x4") - is there any reason why you wouldn't go for a metal sheet roof over rubber? Metal sheets seem to be much cheaper than rubber, and probably last as long. I'd be interested your thoughts :)

Personally, I think you'd have less problems with rubber in the long run given that there's no holes to drill fixing to. However, I'm not a roofer and have never installed a metal roof... If it's just a small shed then the juice might not be worth the squeeze 😂

Why rubber roof and not black corrugated steel? Is that because of the pitch?
@sumeraybuilds
@sumeraybuilds 6 ай бұрын
To be honest I didn’t look into the science of which is better too much. I just know that many people opt for rubber on these garden rooms . I like that there’s less height required, no fixings leading to leak points, easy installation and it’s affordable.

Or you could have try to put the board up side down and you do the cut on the back on the board sort of saying … hope you understand me
