Absolutely love your setup! It’s inspiring to see how much care you put into both the filtration and the well-being of your discus. Thanks for sharing your journey!

You should consider to use your frozen food on a tray and offer to the fish separately. It is way cleaner that way. To make home recipe isn't the best. Would you think any type of gelatin would be good for the fish in the long run?? Unnecessary addition to their diet. All you did there is to put a bunch of mysis (or whatever those small particles are) together in a messy gel. Think about introducing some K1 in your sump instead of those crumbled sponges in the middle. It's way cleaner IMO. You can place the sponges in the other compartment while the K1 gets activated with the biofilm, which takes a while, like 3 to 6 months. Let me know what you think about K1 media. You have beautiful discus. I'm glad to know that you saved them form all the trouble in the beginning. Thanks for sharing.

Oh so you watched till the end! Thanks for that and thanks for all the double quotes. Also, since you use double quotes so much, this tip might come handy- the comma goes inside the double quotes. So, it should have been- “stole the show,” bravo!

@@Piscinarius My friend , in life at list everything has double quotes , whatever you do : any movement , any actions .I'm - 61, I have some life experience . An example : when you prepared discus food - it's good , but you have missed wright amount of a gelatin . Or you cook and you forgot to add some other ingredient , a spice and it will not fit your desire ! That you understood as a tip , was look at everything at list from two positions . To look to the end of this video to me was not difficult , it was interesting , once I as well have added wrong amount of gelatin . I like your fishes as well , Where can I buy them , if I decide to keep this kind of discus ? I'm located in Montreal , Canada . Good luck and be wiser next times !!!

Thinking the same thing. Maybe he wants more even water temps through the whole system. Also discus like super hot water which is low in oxygen. Water may lose to much oxygen by the time it’s in the tank.

Way to much over the top and money that never needed to be spent , ive seen many discus tanks with far less equipment than this and those discus and the owners were very happy, had i not seen the discus i would have thought it was a video on marines , This is someone who obviously has more money than sense and they wonder why so many new to the hobby stay well away from keeping discus, after watching this who can blame them
@triplumberelectro86119 ай бұрын
I can tell you that a mixed reef tank is way more expensive and difficult to achieve. This setup is far from over the top. I'm looking to start a 120 gallon discus aquarium. Similar to this videos setup. With kessil lights and the aquarium having low iron glass. So the discus can glow more. I'm looking to spend 4000 on the tank/equipment. And another 2000 on the discus and rummy nose tetras. A full on reef tank of the similar size would cost 15k minimum.
