i hope she sees it and laughs at it, albeit i doubt that shall happen, but hope, which is a tricky thing to keep - why am i carrying it around....?
------------godaam speciality coffee, this was shot at; is it in or at, but Pune either way
in my un-earned youthful wisdomy vibe, i used to be like "Hope is not a burden that i carry with me"
one becomes what one hates or something like that it goes, one becomes old is certainly holding up.....as i said, they say a lot of things, wth maannnnnn, you should have been at my schoooool and who are youuuu, i mean, they???

What a wholesome piece of comedy (poetry) is this. Writing this set must have meant going through all the memories in his head, going to those dark places, playing those scenarios again, analyzing them again and again, dealing with all the emotional baggage of the past and then overcoming all those emotions and bringing out jokes for public to laugh is a work of great courage. Most people just detach from past and try to move on and never touch those emotions. But this my dear friend, takes courage. Kudos. Felt goosebumps. ❤ And yes, not a single word said against her even after all the court cases etc. Keeping all jokes on himself. Downplaying himself throughout. Speaks truly of a man's character. Might not have been a great husband material according to her but hey, you can't please everyone in life. And that's that. Cheers bro.

Sumit has been my yardstick for measuring other comedians for last 4-5 years. He is way ahead of his time. It will take people at least a decade to realize his "Inception" level of comedy. He delves into his own unconscious and takes people there with him without them realizing it. Big fan from Sindh, Pakistan.

Dave Chappelle, when he accepted the Mark Twain Prize, said that he is a musician; the audience is his instrument, and their laughter is the music he makes. Sumit Anand, in my view, is a similar musician. He is a master of his craft, and calling this piece "real" doesn't even cut it. To masterfully weave two distinct narratives; that of the man who never grew up with the jaded adult who misses the folly of his youth, takes an understanding of standup comedy which is the product of deep thought, sheer hard work, and painstaking self introspection. But above all, to Sumit Anand the human being - thank you. Thank you, for putting yourself out there for us to observe, listen to and learn from. Thank you for being so raw, open and for letting us into your personal life. It's been incredible seeing your journey over the years; from chipkalis racing across the walls & maids stealing spoons, to being able to tell your girlfriend "did you know that?" (perhaps this the same girl in this skit too), to whether there was a time limit on the treatment of minorities, to now, your married life and the real thoughts that a man as (ps. you are not alone!) Its easy for us to look at this as just your body of work, but we forget that this is your life, your lived experience. We don't take this for granted, and we are grateful to be able to witness, what I think, is comedic genius. Thank you, and looking forward to the next one.

Amazing, just goddam amazing. Stand up in India is still gaining it's legs, we are still writing jokes. But this right here is what you get when you start saying the most naked form of your thoughts without embellishments, what you live is what you say and the jokes are there to nudge along the narrative and then in the end what you leave your audience with is a sense of catharsis. I hear legends of comedy veterans in New York who sometimes walk into a club at 2 or 3 in the morning and just pour the utmost essence of the craft that they have refined throughout their career. Those are the best performances. This felt like that.

Sumit plays with emotions rather than situations in the setup of his jokes. It's so good! So refreshing to see stand-up being different from ...x was doing this, then i said this then x said that and i said abe bakchodi karra kya? The audience didn't laugh at some jokes i thought that were great. Which i think is a great tragedy about finding audience. I would have lmaod so much sitting in the audience rather than watching this on my phone at 11:30pm alone in my bedroom. I love the vulnerability, love the style. Thank you man!

Thank you for saying all of that. Thank you for articulating all of that. Thank you for finding the courage and the voice to get out of that darkness. It is so beautiful. This is a gem. You, Sir, are a good man.
