The Gift of Fear was given to me as a gift in the early 80s. I will never forget the chapter about women taking elevators alone with strange men. Even today I never take an elevator with a strange man. I’d rather look rude then put myself in danger.

Its not about women giving the benefit of a doubt. Its about the fact that when a woman goes to police, they dont do anything, or talk to her abusive husband, and do nothing, and when they leave, her husband beats her up, sometimes to death. So yeah, women often have no choice, but to put up with abuse. They know they are with a monster. And they are scared to leave, with no means. And he damn sure makes sure she has none. He makes sure she doesnt have friends or weakens her connections, and takes away her job and her money, to make sure she is never able to get away.

Anyone threatening anyone else, should be punished. If someone is caught saying “I will beat/grape you” or “I will kill you”, should be arrested for at least a month, and assigned a hefty fine, as well as put on a watch list. Each time. Second time it happens, they should be imprisoned for at least a year. Until this happens, there will be no change. They threaten, and later they deliver on their promise. Police dont do anything. Thats the issue.

That was God warning you. I was on a rape trial as a juror of a 14 year old girl who was raped by a “family friend” who was 60. She told the police after the rape that she had dreamed about it. The man had strips of duct tape on the walls of his house to restrain her. The police asked why did she go with the man if she dreamed that and she said she thought it was just a dream.

@@kristinstrickland1038 I'm saying she dreamed about being raped by the family friend and she thought it was just a dream. However, after the dream he did rape her when she went to his house to get a pain pill for the fibromyalgia she suffered from, and he had the rape planned by having strips of duct tape on the wall to restrain her both at his house and his sister's house that was vacant. My point is to listen to your dreams, it's God's kindness to warn us of things. The man had already been to prison for 10 years for raping someone else and the jury I was on didn't know that. It was scary since many other jurors didn't think he did it and it was obvious he did with police pictures of the strips of duct tape on the wall. They thought she was just crying, and it was obvious she was heartbroken. Thank God another juror convinced them of the timeline, and we convicted him and then found out he had served time for a previous rape. They should have told us that since it obviously shows a pattern.
