The pico buffer stop looks great and grass looks even better. Makes it look like a lightly used line stop. What I really like about your layout is that I forget what scale it is and I model n scale but when I see yours I don't even know what scale it i. To me.its just like watching a real railroad. I have some so much fun watching it. Thank you again for sharing it with us I know I appreciate it and I love to watch whatever you do here. Thanks from across the pond. Where we have a lot of modern garbage and not too much of the real but railroading like back in the day.

I've only recently subscribed so will say a belated congratulations on passing 4,000 subscribers! I'm heading down the same path as you and others, taking to KZbin to document my upcoming model railway build. I too was unfortunately put off the forums after noticing the 'clickiness' worsening after years of posting on them; Bridges not having the correct number of arches, "you can't run that train on that line," and rakes of wagons apparently being ridiculous unrealistic formations are just a few of the many examples. Plenty of criticism with very little advice. Then came the long-winded essay from one member suggesting that if you aren't going to run prototypical trains with the correct numbers on each coach or wagon then you shouldn't bother building a model railway... Great advice for a novice hobbyist. It put me off the hobby entirely for a couple of years in truth. Then one day I started watching the likes of Everard Junction and Dean Park, Glebe Road Junction is one of the forgotten greats whom sadly quit modeling but his channel is still there so it's well worth a look, and of course more recently yourself, and that's thankfully pulled me back to the hobby. ~Mike.

Hey dude, I think you've got a great talent for recreating the feel of that classic British trackside scrubland. It feels really authentic and evocative -- not an easy thing to model. Top work!

That was some great video work right at the start! Congrats on the 4k subscribers! You produce some great content and I really enjoy seeing your layout. Some great footage through of the real trains running which was enjoyable as well. Some great scenery work you have manage to do. An overall great update to watch. All the best, Clint

You could have turned that old bridge into a signal box with a door on to the platform. You could stick some tinted windows on to the front and sides. Great work as usual.

Great update. You could say the bridge abutment on the end of the platform pays homage to where the LMS line crossed at Gowerton (or Grovesend on the District line). The hedge rather than the fence along the yard is a good decision I think. The sound on the 60 is great, really impressed with the start up and shut down. I may have even sneaked into your video at one point too :-)

Hi, I have only just found your channel when this video came up automatically as a "recommended" watch when I logged into my own channel. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and have now subscribed and I shall enjoy watching your previous episodes. I really like the look of the headshunt - perfect! In fact your whole layout is superb. I like the way it's not crowded with tracks - very realistic. I tried to cram too much onto my own layout and now regret it. Time for a rebuild here - when I can face all the upheaval that will involve. I like the way you included clips of real railway scenes. In answer to your question, yes please do a JMRI tutorial sometime. I downloaded it some time ago but couldn't really get my head round it. Thanks. Best regards, Vivian

great detail and realism, a pleasure to watch but I didn't get the layout tour I was expecting. Just the parts you're proud of is not enough. See Galgorm Hall for a warts and all tour which helps the viewer to have a full appreciation for what is and what is to be done.
@GowertonParkway4 жыл бұрын
It’s not a layout tour, it’s the regular monthly update that I always do (hence the title summer update) I document changes made over the past 4 or so weeks. That’s the format of the channel. Layout ‘tours’ happen far more sporadically as I’d end up covering a lot of things repeatedly if every video was a layout tour. Sorry you don’t feel it was enough, but if you have a browse through previous videos you may find it gives a little more context....

Amazing live footage to compliment your layout. The steel “rolls” look very effective, what did you make them from? You did a great job of the station platforms/resting walls. Where did you get the “heather” type plants? And finally, fir the moment, what camera are you using? Cheers

Good update. I think the major thing with RMweb, is, you and me don’t model a popular period on there. The most popular stuff seems to be steam or brightly LED encrusted DRS type current stuff ....we fall between the lines. Though to be fair, with KZbin , you have a global family of nutcases, dreamers, Walter Mittys and conspiracy theorists....so I’m not sure it’s nicer !

I can understand why you're not enthused about your town. It's a completely inorganic entity, just an abstract plane floating disconnected above your layout. I'd pull it apart and completely reimagine it. Maybe start with a couple of roads that conform to a realistic terrain, and then site your buildings one by one in a way that, at least in your mind, gives the village a real history, growing naturally on its hillside until the railway arrived, and eventually settling into its modern form. If you need inspiration, browse through the book A Pattern Language, and then look at real world towns and villages in google maps.
