Thank you for sharing your method of soap making, very inspirational. Just made my second bath and would like to get into sales with my girls, so they can have a sense of business as they grow up. My 7 year is really into coming up with names for the soap and the colors. What size mold are you using in their one, where did you get it? Looks like it has a slide out side which would make it easier to remove from the mold. What is the max that fits in this size mold and how do you come up with your recipes
@OpheliasSoapery
@OpheliasSoapery 9 ай бұрын
The mold is linked in the description box under Equipment used. I create my recipes after years and years of experimenting. First thing you should do is learn how to use a soap calculator. I like to use this one soapcalc.net/calc/soapcalcwp.asp

I knew they made milk powder but didn't think that they'd make a powder version of milk alternatives for some reason. How does using coconut milk powder over regular coconut milk affect the soap and which do you prefer so far?
@OpheliasSoapery
@OpheliasSoapery 3 жыл бұрын
I can’t tell any difference in the finished product. So that’s good. I guess the plus side to using the powder is you wouldn’t have to discount your water at all :)

Hello! I love your videos, they are so relaxing and satisfying. I was wondering why you pour the lye water through a strainer? I don't see any chunks in the solution, does it have chunks sometimes?

I love the orange peel in the soapbars! Beautiful outcome. I wish I could smell this soap!. Can I ask a question? Does the heat transfer method you use in this video have any effect to the acceleration? 🤩
@OpheliasSoapery
@OpheliasSoapery 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you ☺️ Yes. A little. Since I’m soaping warmer than I would at room temperature it does heat up and get thicker faster.

Lovely, how much percentage of essential/ fragrance oil do you recommend or add to your soap please?
@OpheliasSoapery
@OpheliasSoapery 2 жыл бұрын
You would want to go by the manufacturers recommend usage rate. For most fragrance oils it’s 5%. But it will vary. Same with essential oils. A lot of essential oils are much lower.

you noted that you cover the soaps in order to make them go through the gel phase, what if they don't go through the gel phase?
@OpheliasSoapery
@OpheliasSoapery 3 жыл бұрын
They would be fine. Gelling just helps with helping unmold better. So they might be a little soft. But Ive never had them not gel as long as they are covered really well. And as much as I want to keep peeking on it. I try not to. It will release the heat.
