I absolutely think you can!! That's not to say that you won't have to practice a few things on a junk canvas as you go, though. Just take it one step at a time, and practice anything you're unsure of before putting it on your painting

Recently subscribed to your channel. I wanted a "galaxy" technique for a scrapbook page. Your tutorials are wonderful! I get it now, about "just a little paint!" I am struggling with my planet...... but I will get it........ on try three....... maybe it will make the planet seem closer, with so many layers......... LOL! I have a 12 x 12, chipboard album. I will be "painting on each page, then add a picture. And With all your instructions, I feel my first painting should look like yours....... nope.......... people tell me not to get discouraged.......... it's after all, my first painting............. I wanted something that felt like summer, and the rest of the details just kind of filled themselves in. A jar and a blowing curtain are things I've wanted to do for awhile, so they were perfect for this idea :D

The gloss medium doesn't stay open as long as the matte medium, so in the curtain, you might have a little difficulty, but give it a try and see how it goes!

What type of palette do you use Jane? The paint looks to be quite wet and you get a lot of coverage with c one brush ful

I'm actually using a canvas board that still has the plastic on it for my palette. It works really well and cleans up easily! The paint covering the background so well is mostly due to my brush. It has firm, but fine bristles, so it holds a TON of paint and has the strength to push it quite far!
