Great deal on the Docs! I'm a fellow Dr Marten lover too! Another KZbinr I watch suggested using the "Dr Marten Wonder Balsam" to shine up and condition the leather. I got my tin on Amazon and I've used it on all my leather docs. Maybe it could help condition the areas that are rough and peeling and stop more peeling from happening.

Recently thrifted my pair of vintage made in England 8053 docs. They looked just like yours. Some sadle soap and black polish brought them back to liiiife. Its been so fun to style them with dresses and skirts a diff vibe then my 1460s
