I grew up in a coastal state in south India, where my grandmother would make me the most delicious bitter melon chips every summer. She'd deep-fry them in coconut oil and then sprinkle them with salt and pepper. They were so delicious you have to try them!

bittermelon is the "scariest" veggie for us filipino kids! 😆 we have a dish, sautéed bittermelon, with eggs, onions, tomatoes, and meat. i used to dislike it when i was a kid but now i really like it! my late father told me that if bittermelon tastes so bad, it's the cook's fault for not seasoning/preparing it well, lol thank you for sharing your summer days with us!

it helps to remove just a tad bit of its bitterness when you soak the cut bittergourd in water for a few mins and ofc dont forget to sprinkle generously course salt on it 🫶🏻
