I love the Disney dolls,I own the Mattel Cinderella doll she is new in box,(minus the little little Golden Book),I got her at Goodwill for like 5 dollars which is a pretty good deal.

Sorry to be late with this reply. You can't really go by the number on the back of the head, as they are not indexed anywhere that way. Very likely she is a Kellogg's doll because Kellogg's offered a lot of premium dolls and most other cereal companies didn't.

Thank you for another lovely dolly post ! It is difficult to choose a favorite here, but the birthstone dolls and the sailor cat and bunnies are wonderful ☺️

Glad you enjoyed it! Besides the Sennebecs, Margie is the definite keeper from this lot. I love the birthday girls too, but I am so out of room here it's bordering on a hoarder house!

Your videos always cheer me up! I just love Madame Alexander Dolls. One of my recent thrift store finds was a Madame Alexander Poor Cinderella doll from the 1960's. I just love her! Thanks for another great video! Take care & God bless!

I love that Polish doll.

That is a beautiful Belle Margie. I think of the shorter size of those Belle dolls as being called 'Marjorie', but have no provenance for that. I do have one of the larger Belle Margies -- with the jointed knees -- in a box clearly marked Belle Margie. The Polish mask doll, I would call her face 'celluloid', rather than vinyl. The difference being that celluloid, once crushed or dented, does not recover the way vinyl does. Her condition is pristine! As I child, I remember a chapter in a Mary Poppins book where a celluloid doll suffers an irreversible smoosh, but I had no idea at the time what celluloid was. 8^)
@vintagedollcollector48284 жыл бұрын
I've never been sure what the difference is between Margie and Marjorie. As for celluloid, it is a plastic with a specific chemical formula that contains camphor. Not all vinyl recovers, it depends on the amount of plasticizer (the stuff that makes it flexible) in the mixture. There is a lot of confusion about celluloid out there. Makes it hard to find actual celluloid dolls because so many are misidentified.
@tygerstripes37524 жыл бұрын
@@vintagedollcollector4828 Camphor! Thank you, that's interesting about celluloid. It is confusing. I think of celluloid as very thin, but I know it can be varied thicknesses.

I think you're right!
@tygerstripes37524 жыл бұрын
@@vintagedollcollector4828 Yes, I have that doll in box, and she is a Tyco Little Mermaid. I remember when I asked for her for Xmas, my Mom noted that her face isn't "very pretty". She was a strange face sculpt that was quickly replaced by one that looked much more like the cartoon. I think that makes her more valuable to doll collectors. I also think she came in 2 sizes, the Barbie size and maybe 7 - 9 inches?

Do you have a treatment for the Beanies smelling of mildew? Always curious about this! I have an old HP Alexander with a bad mold problem. I've done everything but unstring her and soak her parts in bleach water. That may be next!
@vintagedollcollector48284 жыл бұрын
I didn't try it on the Beanies, but recently it was suggested to me that a vinegar and water rinse would get mildew smell out of doll hair. I tried it on a Sasha Cora doll and it worked! But she wasn't all moldy - just her hair was stinky. But if the doll is otherwise trash maybe give it a try.

Have you found any Holly Hobbie dolls?

Yes, in the same lot with the Shirley items I got a Knickerbocker vinyl Holly Hobbie. Usually I come across the cloth ones. She will be in a future video, hopefully soon. Thanks for watching!
