Its the single player campain to the gacha campain, but it works as a tie in, certain things happen in the gacha story that you can then play out differently in spirals of destinies. Theres different paths and endings based on your desiciona while playing, so there is humongous replayability in the mode. Its more of a compliment along side the main story.

Completely disagree, r1999 has always been what I've wanted, a gacha game with good story and character design and chill vibes that doesn't shove monetization down your throat , as a f2p playing since launch I enjoyed every bit of content and it's the only gacha game I'm playing.

@@Oloviye I'm glad that you've found what you've personally wanted. But looking at the huge drop in game popularity, sales etc you may understand what I mean. Most of people had played through the story and then unistalled the game as I did myself. Nothing insteresting apart from the story ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Compare for example to Epic7 which I'm playing as f2p for 3 years already (*and witch also has a great story/vibe by the way). And after 8 years game is still in top by popularity. Thats how you should do the game mechanics
