I know the feelings. My Summer Gold Japanese maple is burning.

Same story here in NW Alabama. Your garden looks nice despite the heat. It's been oppressive 90s for days and days more. Hopefully, we all get the much needed rain soon!

The funny thing is that I was awaken in the middle of the night by a thunderstorm out of nowhere. So we did get some rain but it didn’t lasted long.

Thank-you for the garden tour! - so many really cool plants in your collection, wonderful variety of colors and texture - I’m in northern VA and it hasn’t rained here at all this June, bracing for my water bill 😬

Thanks for watching! It actually rained yesterday, much needed. Sending rain vibes your way 🌧️

I’m sorry some of your trees are struggling. I live near Richmond, VA and we haven’t had rain since June 2nd. I have been hand watering my garden and like you some do my trees are struggling. I’ve moved my struggling trees to an area where they get 2-3 hours of morning light and then are in shade the rest of the day. I hope your trees recover!

The thing is I was awaken in the middle of the night by a thunderstorm so we did get some rain over here in Atlanta! It didn’t rain at all there?

@@Maplesinthegarden not a drop in over 12 days.

@@anabrockway2065 it was the same here until this storm popped up overnight. Maybe uploading a video with a We need rain message made it happen 😂

Fellow Atlanta JM lover here. The roots are showing on Autumn Fire at 20:28, so perhaps a layer of mulch would help to reduce the heat stress on that plant. I am in awe of your collection!
@Maplesinthegarden7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll do that. I typically don’t cover the root flare but I’ll inspect what’s going on there more carefully. Great to see another ATL JM lover!

Hello from the other side of the world, Bulgaria. We have the same problem here. My Orangeola and Skeerat´s broom look dead in 2 days time. They were hit by hail and a lot of heat the days after. Five more maples are looking bad. It is strange that your maples are feeling the heat because most of them are in shade. Are you afraid that they will root rot if you water them more? I learn a lot from your videos and I hope to see all your beautiful maples recover! 🥰 This red star hibiscus is amazing! Never seen that kind before!

So sorry to hear about our your maples! We share the maple pains. It’s so dry that I’m not worried about root rot, even in the shade the conditions are awful! The hibiscus are looking great! There’s a different one that bloomed today. Thanks for watching!

@@Maplesinthegarden is it the first summer like that for your garden? For us this year the heat come too early. I can't wait to see the garden in Argentina.

Thank you for another amazing video! I see most of your maples are growing in glazed pots. Do you prefer these types of pots over the typical terra-cotta clay?
@Maplesinthegarden6 ай бұрын
Yes, glazed pots are my preference. They offer more protection in the winter. Also, terracotta pots are porous so watering is more challenging as water dissipates.
