The character of Ms Wheatley is so painfully realistic that I feel sick to my stomach whenever I see her on screen, the lack of any kind of empathy for the students who obviously don’t have it great is present in many schools and I have seen it first hand. On the other hand, I can most definitely see why she finds it hard to handle students like that, but with enough compassion and care, most teachers can most definitely help problematic and struggling students enjoy learning.
