If you cut at the end of the stem lengthwise above 1/2 inch your hydrangeas will last longer since they require a lot of water. It's my favorite flower year round. Beautiful arrangements.

Just wanted to share that when you see your hydrangeas not looking so good take them out snip off about a half inch of the stem fill your kitchen sink with cold water and submerge your hydrangeas in the water add a big glass of ice cubes and let them soak a couple hours and viola look so refreshed and they will last another couple weeks
