Awesome stuff Profty. I'm starting to think summer hunting for fallow is a good idea - when the weather conditions are right. I dropped a fallow buck last weekend in southern NSW, still in velvet, but it was the fattest fallow I've seen. The layer of fat I had to work to the side while getting the backstraps and legs off was just unbelievable and I think the meat will also be great. Thanks for the effort you put into your videos, and the inspiration that you provide us all

Awesome video mate! I’ll be heading out this weekend and if I’m lucky get on to my first deer. It’s awesome to see how much effort you put into these videos, the amazing moments you capture in nature along with all the extra effort you put in to the shots for editing. Hey man great work, love watching the videos and wanted to say you’ve got me to start deer hunting but my only concern when going out is where I should leave my car and if it’s common to get brake ins while out
@AussieBushHarvest11 ай бұрын
Look I’d say it’s far less risky than a boat ramp or any fishing park up near an urban area. It all depends on what type of vehicle you drive and how confident you are with rough terrain. Generally I still camp on fire trails that would have reasonable access for other vehicles to come in if I had car troubles.

👍Yeah mate! I'm on a Summer Hunt right now. My property doesn't tend to show up deer in the warmer months, and so far very quiet for deer and pigs. Goats always around. My creeks are only good for carp for now, but they are super fun on a light rod. Those army hoochies are a tad small - but they're designed so you can connect two or more together. Anyway, I take a larger light alton flytarp these days. Strange seeing those pigs around the deer in daylight - we've normally thought pigs keep the deer away. I'm hoping for a lovely spiker myself later this afternoon.

PLEASE!!! For Stalking and safety in the bush on foot etc. What is your advice/thoughts etc on FOOTWEAR, boots. All the different terrain/weather/enviros, I never hear people talk about gaiters much if at all and it's the connection between the hunter/tracker/stalker and the ground on which they do it, so that's gotta be super relevant and I'm looking to get some at the moment, so your knowledge would be valued.

I only wear Scarpa Terras, a great leather boot that’s lightweight. As for gaiters i wear Moroka30 snake gaiters

@@AussieBushHarvest Much thanks! I just watch a vid of yours showing some shit. A vid on the different types of scat/turds showing the difference between, roos, deer - doe or stag, wombat, lol??? and how to read it with something for scale or a 150mm ruler would get massive hits for years to come. It's a major thing to tell what you are tracking.

Hi, great video! I just found your channel and I'm keen to eat game meat and wild fish to stop buying mass produced farmed meat and fish for all the health benefits and environmental issues. I'm wondering what to do you with the organs, organs have the highest nutrient content like liver, kidneys, heart, etc. How do you process and store organs? and how do you discard what you don't use? Do you have videos on this info? thanks.

How do you keep flies away when is hot? Great work and thank you for the answer
@AussieBushHarvest11 ай бұрын
You plan to get the animal down early whilst it’s still cooler, and get the meat straight into muslin game bags, or any kind of breathable mesh material. It should be safe from flies if these steps are followed. Next step is to get it in an eski/fridge then freezer as soon as possible

I've been wanting to bag my first deer for a while but waiting for the cooler months, mainly worried about how to store it in the heat before butchering without a cool room. How long do you hang your meat before cutting it up?
@AussieBushHarvest11 ай бұрын
At this time of year I don’t hang it unless I had access to a cool room, during Autumn I’d let it hang over night if it was cold and butcher it 24 -48 hours later if conditions allow. During one cold winter I had a deer hang for almost a week, the nights were minus 5 and days a top of 10. The venison was excellent afterwards. But if there’s any chance of flies getting to the deer or the weather getting warm, I just bag it and freeze it. A lot of the aging process can happen when in the fridge defrosting slowly, I usually defrost steaks many days before eating

@justme.971111 ай бұрын
@@AussieBushHarvest That's huge, twice the size of the 27, but you're packing overnight and not just day pack. Personally, since we are under gumtree branches . A medium sized one will kill you, as has happened to scout and school groups before, but even a small one could take out an eye or throat etc. Remember they always fall like spears, heavy end first.
