Great Video, I think those tugs have pivoting thrusters on both the bow and stern, to aid in directing those ships. I had my sailboat on the Miami River for a while in 1995, and it's amazing how quickly they come and go. Also, they have the right of way, so good idea to keep a wide berth

This was a great Video Alfred, I loved how you showed the different perspective and explained where the different areas were. The guys pulling those ships up the river and they the bridge was amazing and I think it would be a very interesting video if you were to get on one and do an interview. Last but not least, The women in this video all looked beautiful! Btw I like these videos of this area better than the Chit shows at Black Point just my honest opinion. Keep up the great work!

It is truly amazing to see those tugs control the cargo ships. The tug operators are no slouches, these guys have talent and amazing skills. One thing is for sure, given the size of the ships and the draft they have, the Miami river must be deep, but not just in the middle of the channel, but across its entire width. Well, while watching this I found an article about the Miami River, ( www.soundingsonline.com/features/the-miami-river ), it mentions that it is 15 feet deep, that is not a lot given the size of those ships, no room for error. Thanks Alfred! Awesome video as always and really informative. And I don't need a stinking compass to enjoy your videos (there is always a "I'm not a hater" out there, just judgmental) . Your narratives are spontaneously natural and on target, Love them, don't change a thing Bro, keep being yourself. If not, it becomes a Chit Show. The Freedom Tower brought tears, I was there with my parents in 1965 upon arrival.

So I watched this again but on my big screen and at 17:07 the Babun Express bow is visible and the water marking is at 32 feet! The 15 foot remark about the Miami River must be at its lowest point somewhere up stream. Dang! There must be some bodies down there from the 1980's Cocaine Cowboy days.

@nolinovio67484 жыл бұрын
the new building being erected across from where you were standing will be one of the most expensive properties in downtown Miami. After watching this video, I don't think it'll be worth buying there (not that I can afford it) the reason being the noise pollution coming from the tug boats and ships will make that area loud with excessive noise when ships are coming into the Miami River. But if you like to watch ships and tugboats passing by, like I do, you will not mind the noise once in a while. . awesome video of the tug boats going sideways just to keep the ship in-line! . didn't know tug boats can do that

Run Tugs for a living from Panama City Fla. To Brownsville , Tx. Believe me we love the sights of these towns but the small boat traffic is a Nightmare. Notice the small boat that wants to squeeze through the bridge with the Betty K Line while in tow... They are Clueless as to what could happen.
