Being an ex-pat now living in Canada, I sort of miss M and S. Having said that, whenever I get to visit I am quite often saddened by their style, fabric choices and value for money. I do like the skirt and choc top, they look nice. I have to say who ever thinks the stripe down the leg on casual trousers is smart, is in my eyes very wrong. Each to their own but to my eye there hideous. Nice channel with well presented content.

I entirely agree with you, and the quality of material has dropped through the floor. M&S lost their way in smart wearable clothes about 20 years ago. I am still waiting to replace my white linen jacket from years ago, which is now threadbare, but nothing has come anywhere close to the stylish sophisticated, excellent, but simple linen jacket that I had hoped to purchase to replace my 20+ year old M&S jacket, in a Plus size.

The pronlem with clothes from M&S is that they only suit tall skinny women. As a 5ft mature lady with a heavy bust and prominent tummy, I find it very hard to fibd things that suit. Dresses are too long and the loose baggy look is awful on me.

Honestly Lily, I think M&S do more for most sizes than a lot of other stores, but when products are new in, I have noticed that it does take a couple of weeks, sometimes, to expand fully. Do take a look, I'm only 4 inches taller than you. Yxx

Having tried on wide leg trousers they are not flattering on shorter people . This is a trend I’m going to miss and stick to straight, slim or skinny trousers.
