Recently found your channel. Just bought our first boat a few months ago. A bulls bay 1700. We usually put in at Davis island but I’m just having trouble finding thick mangroves. I just need to get out and explore more. Keep up the great videos. I’ve learned a lot from watching.

Try fishing the docks around Davis island. Like mangroves the docks provide structure that hold fish. Night fishing is excellent when the dock lights are on! Head over to the mouth of the alafia river, there is a bunch of mangrove cuts and spoil islands that are productive this time of year. Use Google Earth to find areas of interest and plan your trip then fish your plan....Salt Strong is another great channel with tons of local info and would be worth checking out. Yeah Davis island is mostly what I fish. Haven’t caught anything but some snapper, trout and trash fish. Been using live shrimp, topwater early in the morning, and some twitchbaits. I’ll try the alafia river next time. Haven’t tried the docks at night yet.

Any tips for shore line and dock fishing? I'm a fairly new fisherman and just caught my first red fish, about 10 inches on a frozen shrimp. This video is awesome! Thanks for the info!

Congrats on catching your first red! The hardest part of shore/dock fishing is finding a spot that gives you access to a productive area. Try to find some docks or shoreline areas that have oyster bars or mangroves within casting distance. Once you find that then you can just follow what I talked about in this video about bait and tackle and you should catch some fish

Usually not, but if there's some wind it makes it easier to cast and keep the bait on the bottom with a split shot on
