The amount of dialogue was one of the strongest aspects because that is how people interact when they first meet. I really thought that Linklater truly allowed the actors to breathe and emote. And it is true that we are often caught in an acting mode. The dream of a truly romantic encounter is one filled with lots of intimate dialogue that .

I love these three and I love their collaborations together. Before Midnight needs to win some awards glory. They are long overdue getting their acclaim for this magnificent series of films.

Julie is so uncomfortable. Everyone is talking over her. I don't think it was intentional, but it is what it is. I love Julie, Ethan and Richard. The world is a better place because these films exist.

35:31 Any idea what exactly Richard Linklater actually says here? He's talking about how important Vienna was in the first movie as the location, and I assume he's saying something like, "we were always on the lookout for anything that's local" - but I cannot make out his words. If anyone can help please that would be great as I need it for an essay.

Romanticism, extended now Hollywood, gives us a false fuzzy harmful view of what love really is. Love isn’t what happens in movies. Before Midnight is more real, not a fairytale

I don't get why people think and talk so seriously about films, it's just a form of entertainment, escapism, not real life just observing it from the outside within in a given time period albeit sometimes cleverly, to me film does not compare with music composition painting prose or poetry.

Because films like this are visual poetry it’s recognizing layers upon layers of the human experience! Its odd you view it as escapism as I only reserve that for garbage mainstream films which I choose to almost never watch!
