I have to say that your videos are some of the best I’ve seen on walleye fishing, and for other species. Very informative. Usually other shows give very little information and your basically watching a guy catch fish for 10 minutes. Thanks for all your hard work and helping us anglers becoming better fisherman.

Because of you I now actually enjoy fishing. Thanks for all the great info Tom. I am one hundred percent of the time rocking at least three rods in the boat. One for trolling one for jig and one for slip bobbers. I used to struggle to catch a few fish in a year now there's rarely a time I come off the water without something in the live well. Hats off to you. Keep up the good work

Thanks Tom for you're video's I've learned so much so far can't wait to try them. My target is usually bass and walleye in spring and fall river fishing. My locators are old and need upgrades so don't do alot of lake walleye fishing and work alot. Broke my leg so not out right now but thank you. I like how you're super informative and don't talk down to us. Best teaching video's I've come across keep up the great work!!! Alan

Great videos Tom, very informative. I fish the Winnipeg River system near the Manitoba/Ontario border of which Eaglesnest Lake is a part. There are many significant reefs and areas with strong current combined with many lake/bay environments. If you ever have a chance in one of your videos to make specific reference to these types of systems I would find it very useful. Thanks again for sharing your expertise.

Thanks for all the great info! I have watched a majority of your videos and seems like the quality and format just keeps getting better over the years. I enjoy the Tom talks and instructional videos just as much or more than the fish catch videos. I also really like that fact that they are current uploads which tell you what is currently working. I agree with your big picture approaches and importance on finding the fish which dictates how to fish them. Would like to see more videos about locating walleye depending on the time of year and just looking at different contour maps. The following are random questions that don’t need responses.. How many fish per hour are you catching on average? What percentage of time do you spend driving around looking for fish? How often and under what scenarios do you start fishing without having marked any fish in the area? How do walleyes relate to steep break lines?

Who taught you how to fish for walleye Tom? You seem to know quite a bit for a young guy. A friend of mine Bill Struble was a guide on lake Sacandaga in the Adirondacks. I know it took him a lot of years to master walleye fishing on that. He was known as the walleye wizard.

When you troll shallow water...say 15 feet or less...how close to the bottom do you run your harnesses? Still 3 to 5 feet from bottom or the top of any structure you are fishing? I often fish 9 to 12 feet and thought it was important to keep it on the bottom. Now I know how wrong I was. Thank you for explaing why.

I think I have a good walleye lake in central Minnesota, but you cannot use any kind of live bait, or spinners without a ton of little fish robbing your bait. What can I try? Don't have the spotlock, so acme jigging has not worked yet either.
@Himes26
@Himes26 4 жыл бұрын
I have the same issue (no spot lock), but I’ve had some success back trolling into the wind with my transom mount trolling motor. I just keep adjusting the throttle until my line is completely vertical, I also drop a way point and zoom all the way in on my map to make sure I’m not drifting. Or course in 25 feet of water the sonar is beam is roughly 8 ft in diameter, so actually drifting around a little bit might be advantageous, that fish can be anywhere in that 8 ft zone.
