Best video on the summer board I’ve seen yet, perhaps. What are your feelings now, 2 years later

well I didn't stick with it, I purchased a onewheel and have had tons of fun with it. Still ride it to this day

your negative is actually a positive for me, I feel like the carving is the fun part for me
@Chilliedogs2 жыл бұрын
Right? People always tell me just get a regular board so you can chill and not have to keep carving, but that’s exactly why I have the board
@Scradiboutch2 жыл бұрын
It all depends on your natural skills and balance. This is your experience. Mine is that after maybe 5 hours of frustrating tries and small falls, I can carve, drift and go straight without taking an edge. I am a snowboarder and a wake boarder, but not a great one. It is not the board’s fault dude, it is the rider’s :-)

Thanks for sharing! That's what I was afraid of with this board. It doesn't seem like a board where a person can just chill, go straight, or just cruise. It feels like a person has to constantly carve.

if you cant ride centers you have business riding in the streets. Riding centers is key to riding a summerboard. Every trick is based on riding centers. The board doesnt catch on gravel and just spin out from under you. Your legs arent strong enough yet if you cant ride centers consistently. Practice more on basketball courts or parking lots to get your legs stronger. I made the same mistake of thinking I knew how to ride the board after two months but when you ride on the streets you need more control and control comes when your legs are strong enough to ride centers. your board is slipping out because your back leg is getting fatigued. I learned that the hard way after cracking two helmets and numerous road rash injuries. Now (after 6 months) I can ride centers on both sides of board and riding on the streets is no longer an issue. but honestly now that my riding centers skills are solid I love going to the skate parks and just working on tricks (ollies, presses, ramp and pipe work). Enjoy!

I never ride centers and I have no problems riding pretty much any area. Centers is hard but it’s very easy to maneuver while doing small s’s

great honest review! I'm kinda debating between the summerboard and OneWheel but I like the summerboard's idea of easily switching sides and carving and spins
@vovochka19862 жыл бұрын
One wheel is definitely the way to go if you're just trying to cruise. The summerboard is challenging but man is it fun!

I bought a OW Pint. It is too easy to use - so no fun on concrete. Plus the fall on the OW normally ends up with titanium plates from surgery. My LT V2 was great fun. SBX looks even better. The LT V2 died though wearing out.

Have you ever gone Snowboarding? You can't sit flat, your board will turn and catch an edge too. You need to stay on a front or back edge. And it's obvious that a skate wheel vs a rock is gonna trip you up.

Dude, that is so sad. Well done for trying though. Have you considered riding a scooter? They're good in straight lines. Riding centres takes a good sense of balance, its also better with more weight on your back foot.I recommend either following Summerboard tutorials which will hopefully help you over the pain barrier or selling your deck to someone who has the requisite will & coordination to learn to ride. The only Summerboard Negatives you have identified is that its hard to learn; let you in on a secret, the best things in life take time & effort to become proficient at.

Lol I'll die on the summerboard before I get caught on a scooter, no I'm still practicing the day I posted this video was just expressing feelings, I'm getting better and faster, I'll make an updated video soon.

I’ve been riding for 6 months now n I’ve only fallen like 4-5 times. It definitely took me about 2 months to learn but it just takes time. Now I commute to work on it smoothly and I’m starting to learn how to switch sides. You learn to direct your weight so that you can ride over bumps and all of that with no problem. The real problem I’m running across is maintenance and repairs. I’m constantly having a problem with my motor 0 wheel jamming up.
@Jay-fc4fg Жыл бұрын
Maintenance is what I'm interested in.. wish their was a dedicated video on this.. how much are you all spending after the 2k purchase?
@mikescatt37473 жыл бұрын
I just bought one last month and am feeling the same way. I’ve been snowboarding and skating my entire life but for some reason can’t get the feel of the summer board. Maybe it just takes more practice…..
@owensrebellion3 жыл бұрын
I think I need to make an updated video lol people seem too think I'm not able to ride it, I can ride the board but just not like those pro youtubers, it's just a pain in the ass board, i'm pretty much already done with it. put it up on FB market place, and got something else that i'm really enjoying. Hopefully it sells
@wasaglass2 жыл бұрын
it's because the board is trying to force qualities (snowboarding) that don't make sense for a pev. I swear people will find any excuse to not just buy an EUC even though they kicks the shit out of every other electric board.
@LS-zo9iw2 жыл бұрын
exactly! I thought they were JUNK plus crashing on pavement opposed to snow... HARD PASS sticking with my one wheel.
@christopherbrock9215 ай бұрын
This guy has never gone snowboarding guaranteed. U need to be able to lean to an edge to drag your edge.

what's snowboarding!?
@maxdecarlo54618 ай бұрын
I’ve taught snowboarding professionally for over a decade, and the one thing I can tell you without hesitation about everyone who says they’ve been riding their entire lives, is that they all have a number of bad habits that can cause them to fall or experience additional pain and fatigue while riding. Moving off snow, which is far more forgiving, and onto asphalt is definitely going to amplify those issues. Not trying to be rude, but it’s usually the rider, not the board.
@owensrebellion8 ай бұрын
Ey Its all good everyone is entitled to their opinion. I got rid of the board and got the Onewheel and I've had tons of fun on that thing hitting trails and going off jumps its been a blast, it's definitely not like snowboarding but damn its fun.

Try to find some public parks that have paved or cement pathways. Usually pathways at parks are smoother than roads. As for going straight, try to lean more on your back wheel and maintain a good amount of speed

Please post a video of you snowboarding... i am trying to think of a single time after day 1 of snowboarding that i wasnt on either my toe or heel edge 100% of the time and i cant do it. Snowboarding is a game of edges ive never done this summerboard thing before but im picking one up soon ill let you know how it goes
@GuapNiggaSon Жыл бұрын
That's what I was thinking too. I'm an average snowboarder at BEST but I definitely know snowboarding with control means constantly switching between your edges. I think he didn't have the leg strength to ride tighter curves on the summerboard.

I live in NYC and sidewalks and streets suck on top of horrible drivers ! I wanted to try this out but then came across this video. I still think it's a cool board but now I'm going to really think about it if I want one now. And by the way I know you will never get caught on a scooter but man I got one that goes 55 miles and bro its fuckin crazy lol you need a full face helmet for that one. I got a onewheel too and busted my ass twice really bad then took a break from it but now getting back into it again. Then I came across the summer board so let's see. I'm gonna do more research. Thanks for this post dude.
@owensrebellion3 жыл бұрын
yea man no problem I actually just recently got in too the Onewheel even made some videos with a group, I already put my Summerboard on FB marketplace I love the OneWheel now haha I've already had some crazy falls but totally my fault and it was fun
@Skorpyon_kng3 жыл бұрын
@@owensrebellion cool glad you had fun with it. See my problem is I like fast and I did just that with the onewheel and boy did it back fire. The thing gave me warning signs to slow down and I ignored it like atleast 3 times and next thing I know I'm catapulted into the ground. Not fun. But still a fun board. Have fun bro. I'll definitely follow. 👍

I have to disagree to an extent, this board is ROUGH to learn, but once you do and are comfortable enough on it, it really does start to blend with snowboarding, freshies are coming in soon, so hopefully they help with the rough michigan roads
@austinreece38992 жыл бұрын
The reality of it is is that he is saying positive Fino things he’s being honest about it but the reality of a summer board is a surfboard mixed with a longboard the whole purpose of it is to feel like you’re Surfing you’re not supposed to just ride straight with it yeah I feel like that’s probably a logical thing to be able to do the whole perspective of it even in the videos none of the 10 times they are literally zigzagging around their “” snowboarding”” That’s a whole bases in the whole build of a summer board is the whole snowboarding aspect and feel you’re supposed to be zigzagging around and feeling like you know you’re floating on air type feel
