Toyin really vibed and felt the last song more. More that just step she was dancing in connection with the song lyrics. that gospel song about what Gods means to people. Mamson were just doin great technics but not aligned with the song spirit. House is a feeling thing abd She showed more of that. Dont get it twisted Mamson is amazing with is well structured and clean combos.

im so tired of that lame excuse for weak dancing. 🙄 technically, you cant even REALLY House in a “contest” because everybody dont feel every song the same way. there are MANY STYLES OF HOUSE MUSIC and dancers respond best to music that touches their soul. 💎 in real life, House is supposed to be medicine for the listener: not a performance for an audience. 💯 but in terms of actual skill, facial expressions and theatrics NEVER replace technique and execution. vibes are like seasoning, but technique is always the main course. 💎 you could say dance is a language, but just like in a conversation you cant make up for a limited vocabulary by “yelling” 💎 she lost and if this contest was ANYWHERE else: it wouldnt even be a discussion. Im disappointed that the locking and Hip Hop contests were better than the House competition. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Your metaphor should really work this way: you can have the best grammar, know the most word and still have nothing to say worth listening to. We want a confluence of both feeling and technique. I'll take the substance of spirit of over the meaningless flash of techniques any day. Of course, I'm speaking generally. In relation to this battle, I enjoyed both. I am so shocked about how many people did not think Toyin won that! Mamson is always amazing of course and the first and second round for me were definitely a toss up for me as far as who should have won, but Toyin came in on that third round and absolutely killed it. The spirit of her dancing literally made me feel like I was in church. She expressed the spiritual aspects of house music through her movement in a way that very very few can compare to. She deserved every bit of that win in my humble opinion.

Before judges' judgment, I felt Toyin won and I'm so happy they agreed. She's a plumb beast who interprets every song perfectly and embodies them. Congrats on the win, Toyin! You earned it, for sure.

This wasn't even close. Mamson crushed her. No disrespect. Toyin is great in her own right, but she really didnt do anything interesting besides whip her hair around. That last track was her gimme track and she did nothing with it. Bad call judges.

Ignore the comments just confused people babbling on with their self referential masturbation session type fake outrage For myself I am not that keen on Mamson or Kwame even if I can appreciate it..I went with Toyin because she is striking rather than sliding and skating. Hers requires precise timing whereas those who clean the floor can blend and disguise poor execution with groove. If Toyin miscalculated.it would have been plain to see but she expertly pulled off those moves and did so repeatedly.. further it was exact precise well weighted with lots.of variety whilst maintaining the base level of house dance. Few dance like her these days which is unsurprising given the level of coordination needed to perform like that. It was very neat and tidy, meaning even in a club she can do that without requiring a massive halo like circle.tl accommodate her, which I can't day for the majority of extravagant but messy house dancers. But hey, ignore that. Let me like these myopic fools flooding the comments section with their unsubstantiated drivel and say "It pohlitikal. Mammy robbed. Judge evil"

No surprise.. Mamson robbed as usual. The track selection was weak for a house dance battle especially that second song. Come on. Toyin is great, but he was better. All she did was whip her hair around. Not impressed at all. She's way better than that. Side note: The camera work/editing here was particularly awful. Just throw up the static shot and let the dancers go. Too much trying to zoom in and out and cutting to one or the other. It wasn't broke.
