I think Jacob Collier is probably the greatest musical genius of the last 30 years. His imagination and alacrity are so far beyond my and most peoples ability that it makes me feel very humble, but inspired.

Regarding the video decription: I believe Jacob wrote the song himself for the In My Room Album, it´s not a song by Snarky Puppy (although the SP version was the first released).

he wrote it for snarky puppy, featuring himself, and then re-arranged it for just himself.

Truly amazed at how well the live show is working. I'm very familiar with the Snarky Puppy version. Considering what a technical feat is it to achieve this (let alone a musical one) I worried that it would feel contrived and less musical. It's brilliantly musical, as usual. I'm so excited about getting a chance to see the show live!

He is an amazing talent. Almost too much. I have known about him for quite some time. He is at such a high level, that maybe he finds it impossible to play with others. Maybe he is too impatient, knowing that he can do it all himself. But IMO he is denying himself one of th best parts in music; which is playing with others. The very notion of them doing something you do NOT want them to do is a thrill. The joy of surprise and interplay. Like Prince before him, maybe with age he will get a band together. This song e.g. is a great song. But the Snarky version puts it to shame. The BU singers alone from Snarky show are worth it.

but he does play with others, and does I think really appreciate what they contribute, but he himself is so very far above most people, his subtlety, irony, parody is at such a high level that most of us can only marvel at it.

he's actually been on tour for like a year now, playing with a band, with every sound created on stage, no click.

yeah, it does, but that's partly the reason why he's now touring with a band. in this format's defense, though, if he were to play absolutely everything into the looper during the show, it wouldn't be much fun, and he triggers every single change between verse, chorus, etc. manually. it's not just an mp3 file playing below his playing, it's a huge, complicated ableton session.
