I'm so glad you talk about seasonality. I was consistent in heavy weight lifting for over 2 years and think that contributed to a burn out. I'm now doing calisthenics but changing my work outs based on my menstrual cycle and prioritising winter rest. I think its gonna be a better routine for me

I have spent a lot of time watching KZbin vids for help with handstanding, but finding summer fun fitness has changed everything. A bit different for me as I've just turned 68 years of age but, somehow, I've managed to get to the point of holding a 10 to 20 second handstand. I workout 5 days p week with long sessions starting with an hour of stretching then another hour of a mish mash of abbs exercises eventually leading to a self-styled rings workout. My handstand is getting better but at an incredibly slow rate; now I intend to follow Summer's routine as closely as possible to put the theory to the test. The question is: can it work for a person in their late 60s? I'll get back to you to let you know. If Summer ever reads this let me just say a couple more things: 1 I'm going to give your URL out to some of the girls in the gym where I workout (Bantynes Lowestoft UK) and I'll ask them to give me feedback on how it goes if they go for it. 2 Thank you so much for the downloads - If only I could have accessed them at the beginning of my HS journey!! You are super brilliant, thank you.

As a former gymnast, swimmer and diver, I’ve been wanting to get back into the calisthenics life!! I’ve been heavy in the gym for the past few years and it’s starting to get boring. This looks like so much fun! I literally can't do any of this but I wish I could. I also wish they had basic calisthenics gyms out there; it seems you really have no choice but to teach yourself ! I ordered the Fit home gym and am waiting for it, but it would be so great just to do pullups.

Awesome video. Ur super strong! I do incorporate weighted calisthenics into my weight training but have been really thinking about doing just calisthenic program for a couple months out of the year. Totally true about being season human beings. My strength noticably goes up in the spring and summer months. Also, while ur doing dips, u can see the Christmas tree on ur lower to mid back. That's a look that most body builders go for on the lower back. Ur core must be crazy strong. Love the videos! Keep posting!

Love that straight leg curtsy squat, if that's what you call it. I've benefited a lot from incorporating curtsy squats and that looks like a great way to level up.

You're in the Okanagan!! Omg! I was there 8 years ago. There were wildfires in Washington state at the time and the smoke was blowing up from there so we probably didn't see it in all it's glory.... nice area tho! I think you're great btw! I have been watching your shorts for some time now. I'm trying to get started in calisthenics but currently battling injuries sustained doing other activities😢.

My queen!!!!! An amazing full week workout. Very high level of performance. I've got to ask you about your flexibility. How Did You achieve yours? I saw the morning routine that you are doing, and the flexibility exercises that part of your warm up and workouts, that's it? Thanks for absolutely great content ❤️❤️❤️

My flexibility was obtained through strengthening drills within my workout, stretching at the end of each session and a dynamics warm-up at the start. I tend to have one workout a week where I more focus on mobility as well. If you've ever done my backbend workout or my middle splits workout, or any of my handstand workouts you'll see how you can obtain greater flexibility while also strengthening your body :)

Hi, Summer! What are your main rules that you apply for vegan diet? I also do calisthenics and I want to be vegan too but I'm scared I won't be able to eat vegan and remain or be healthy because I might miss some nutrients.. maybe you have some advice for me? Or a material in your vlogs/blog? Thank you!

I just posted a what I eat in a day, you could check that out. I list my priorities with food there. If you're worried about certain nutrients, I'd advise looking up some actual studies that address your concerns and going from there rather than just listening to what people say online. There are tons of studies done on long term plant based eating :) You could also follow some vegan doctors & nutritionists online for more insight (like Dr. Matthew Nagra or Simon Hill). I take a multivitamin from Complement that addresses the essential vitamins that most North Americans are missing as a whole (Iodine, D3, Magnesium, K2, DHA/EPA..etc). I'd also recommend getting your blood work done yearly to make sure your levels are good regardless of what diet you're on. I personally was a super sick kid - my vitamin levels and general health improved tremendously after switching (although it takes some time, don't expect to see big changes after only a few days). You could also follow other vegan calisthenics athletes like fellow KZbinr The Jacked Vegan. I'd also recommend reading some books - Fibre Fuelled is a great one. And following lots of vegan recipe accounts so you slowly learn how to cook without it being too overwhelming, here are some options : Crazy Healthy Cool, Plant You, Brian Turner, Derek Simmnet, Pick Up Limes..etc
