Listening to Jacob hide Summertime amongst every other note on the piano is like that moment when you taste a complex curry with 100x ingredients in it and go "aaaaaah, I can taste a hint of cinnamon... niiiiiiiice!"

Great improvs by Jason and the trio on this laid back jazzy blues version of Summertime. I’m a big fan of his creative arrangements and musicianship on solo piano. That said, I would really like to hear him capture the funk and spirit of hip hop someday…a tall order for acoustic solo piano with or without the trio I admit.

Do you think it is okay while learning a jazz standard to copy the sheet music from a KZbin video? Like all the voicings notated? Or should you always try to compose your own interpretation to jazz standards based on a chord sheet?

Amazing. I think the piano should be on the right side of the stage so people can see your right hand. If anything, move it to the middle out front. This is your Trio, it goes under your name as the Jacob Koller Trio or just Jacob Koller. If you have a camera crew at every show then send the feed to TV screens on each side of the stage so people can see your hands. Some retirement community centers do this where they have TVs and cameras. You want the recorded sound to be perfect so you can preserve memories. Think of Bill Evans. He recorded live shows and they became his best works. Somehow the sound was perfect, same for Jimmy Smith. You want the recordings to be remembered years from now. You want to publish your works as official CDs and digital albums online. You should be on Sirius and XM radio soon, then you will be remembered. The channel you want to be on is called "Real Jazz." If you make the perfect CD you can call it Amazing. You could also call it Incredible but that title is taken by Jimmy Smith and Joey Defrancesco, which is one of the greatest jazz organ CDs of all time.
