That sucks about the lake day being so cold. We spent 12 days in BC during a heatwave and preordered tickets to a big outdoor waterpark and it was so cold all day! The kids and my husband went on a bunch of slides, but I was too cold and the baby and I spent the day at the picnic bench or in the hot tub.

The lake house was a 5 star book for me and I’m not a teenager 😂 but I just love the supernatural, unhinged, unexpected twists so I really loved the ending. But your rant on this book was very entertaining to listen 😂 I’m sorry you didn’t end up liking it, hopefully the rest of the summerween will be a win! For me, summerween has been going weirdly - so far I’ve had one 5 star, two 3 stars, one 2 star and two 1 stars 🥲 the best was This Is Where We Talk Things Out and the worst was Everything The Darkness Eats 🥲

I love the idea of S.A. Cosby's books but I can't do super sad or gory stuff. He looks like a big Black teddy bear so it's hard to believe he writes such twisted stuff. I also stay away from religious topics. I'm a devout atheist who lives in the deep South and it's hard to get through a day without having religion shoved down one's throat.
