Hey man! I just have to say, I've been in the VFX industry for a few years. This is by far one of the best / simplest tracking videos I have ever seen. I really enjoy your videos and have learned a lot just from watching your channel. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. Looking forward to more!

Thanks a lot for all your tutorials. A few months ago I started with Summit 1 and worked my way up to now Summet 33. It is really very inspiring stuff. I have learned a lot. For this project I had some trouble importing video in C4D. After exporting (fromAI) and importing (in C4D) a JPEG sequence it worked perfect.

For everyone who has a problem importing his videos to cinema4d. you can export the video as jpg so u got a picture for every frame in your render folder. now u drag and drop the first frame of the video into the materials and click no. then u click on the material and on the texture and go to animate. now make sure u got the same frame rate as the original video and click calculate. cinema4d calculates every frame in ur folder and creates an animation. idk why some c4d versions cant import a mov or mp4 file but this worked for me

Great tutorial. Learned a lot. Did have a couple issues. First issue was that while playing the project in C4D R16 everything except the background would disappear and then reappear once I stopped playing. They would appear in the render, just not in playback. The second problem was I the plane always showed very faintly even though I checked Compositing Background. neither of these affected the final render but was perplexing.

Awesome tutorial and easy to follow. BTW. You can use the "Tint" Effects to change the shadow to dark blue without influence the white area:D

Is there a way to make your 3D object in C4D and then import it to After Effect and solve everything in there with the camera tracker? I'm trying to import the 3D model of the low poly island tutorial (animated) on a moving footage (where i'd like to move all arround the 3D object), and i'm having issues about what export settings i have to choose in C4D. A really short tutorial on the diffrents features of C4D about exporting your object / animation would be awesome! (But again thank you for sharing your knowledge!)

To colour correct the shadow at the end, I used selective colour and adjusted the black. I also quickly animated a mask for the shadow as it was too big for the shadow I'd meant to cast and it cut off at the edge of the plane form C4D.

Hay mate really enjoyed this tut! i'm new to AE + C4D so these really help :) I was wondering what you do when you have a shadow that falls over something more complex than a straight floor, like steps perhaps or up a steep hill. Is it a matter of making multiple planes and trying to re-model the background? Perhaps an idea for another summit? Cheers, P.

Firstly great tuts i love your channel you always teach me so much. One thing i did notice is the tree to the center middle is reflecting on the front of the bug thingy, but I think that would have made this a crazy tut... If you were to remove the other tree how would you go about doing that?

All works out great. However if I open my track in Cinema it is not aligned to the cinema "floor". This is irritating when I wan to work with simulation tags. Is there something I missed since you have it perfectly aligned. Great Work!

I love this tutorial! I only have c4d lite so just trying to work out how to render it right in AE. I wanted to use text instead of a sphere, but I don't get the reflections in the same way following these instructions. Have I made a mistake by doing it with text?
@LornaWilsonVideo
@LornaWilsonVideo 10 жыл бұрын
***** I've tried this on a sphere and it works beautifully as it does in this tut. I've got it working ( I needed to select 'use colour - layer' in the extrude nurbs) but my reflections aren't where I want them so just gonna mess around with it. Really appreciate that you take the time to reply to your viewers. Your tutorials are great, always waiting for the next one! :)

lately ive come across a problem with exporting my camera solve from boujou. Basically im not receiving the 'rotation' information in cinema 4d r16. Only the position is read by C4D r16. When I open the same solve in C4D r12 it does show all the information in there. The fix im using right now is to just save the file in r12 and then open that new saved file in r16. Do you know why r12 only reads the information? Thanks. (Im using boujou 4.0 btw, and I tried opening it on both my mac's and pc's r16 version as well, no luck)

***Having Issues With C4d Materials??*** Cinema 4d ( at least for r 18 ) doesn't recognize the .mov file extension. You must render out your .mov file in After Effects to a .AVI file type and then use that as the material texture in c4d. I hope this helps anyone having this issue.

Nice tutorial! The only thing that caught my eye is that your shadow was too blurry relative to the shadows in the plate, they're fairly sharp. And just thinking out loud, could you throw a levels adjustment onto your shadow layer to push the blues inside AE rather than bake the light color inside of C4D? Keep up the great work!

***** And you reply to people! You're the best. Actually, I have a small tutorial request. I had this idea for a video using C4d but couldn't execute it properly. Basically a shatter effect that shatters along a particular image edge. The idea was for a Dark Side of The Moon 'trailer' where it looks like glass cracks from left to right and the predominant cracks form the prism on the album cover.
