I hadn't used the plugin for a while.... now I have come back to it... using V 1.06. Every time I attempt to make a rubber hose it does so, however, it just drops a hose in a rounded star shape... can't seem to find the effects for the hose at all. Can't move it or modify it other than the color and stroke width. Is this an issue with CC2018 not being compatible? An issue with where I placed the plugin? I can open older files and it shows up just fine. Not sure what it is that I have done wrong....

Hey, Huge fan, just picked up this and motion v2, was just curious if its possible to put a mask on a specific stroke within a rubberhose layer, I want to put a plaid alpha matte as a texture for a characters shirt but cant alpha matter a specific layer stroke : / not sure if you'll see this, but would appreciate any advice

I've been curious about rubberhose since it came out. I was hoping it'd be compatible with photoshop created characters, but oh well I like its easier to use controls and shape layer goodness. I'd love to see a comparison between DuiK and Rubberhose and any other sorta plug in like them. I had Duik Installed but I kept getting annoying popups when loading AE about it being not up to date or that it was up to date.

+Mt. Mograph Would still be nice to see a video comparing Duik and Rubberhouse showing what you find bad and good in both. Hard to pass up a nice free tool, unless you are getting some kinda kickback from Rubberhouse. In that case, I totally understand. Duik for imported art and Rubberhose for stuff made in Ae from shapes, so maybe a video on mixing the two or why/when. But maybe that would be better left to someone who mostly does character animation in Ae.

I could see mixing the two. RubberHose seems like its great for arms and legs. But what about body shapes? Also doesn't seem like RubberHose gives any hip/shoulder joints. Also what about characters that aren't humans? How well does it work with animals and monsters? I'd loved to see an advanced rigging/character video, especially with RubberHose. *****

Compared to Duik (which I have used a ton), it's more of a raster effect unfortunately. But this sounds like a great vector alternative.

I figured out the issue. There's no scrolling bit on the pop-out UI, so they were there but not able to display because the UI holding the options is super small.

Hey, this might be a dumb question, but I'm using After Effects CS6 and if I press " u ", to show the things that I've keyframed, I'm opening ALL other tabs as well. So I'm seeing a whoooole lot of stuff. Any idea how I could change that?

Sure! you have to make sure the layer you want to expand is selected. If you have nothing selected, then EVERYTHING will expand when you hit "u".

Why go through that expressions stuff when you could just parent the bottom leg hose to the shoe and then you can move and rotate the shoe to animate it? There is also a setting that freezes the hoses rotation values. Unless I am missing something.

When you drag a controller, it runs very slowly. It happens to my Mac also when I'm using After Effects CC 2015, but it runs faster on my PC ( using After Effects CC). Do you know how to solve that problem on Mac?

@Mt. Mograph if you just turn off the freeze rotation of the start controller, it(ankle) won't rotate with the motion of the hose & the shoe won't rotate with it

I have problems with the very basic function: bending the thigh and the lower leg (or bending the knee, sorry?). WHAT hast to be parented to WHAT is my question? (I use 2 PS-Layers as artwork for the legparts) When I move the ankle-controller, only the lower leg is moving (same with the arms). Watched 20+ tuts but everyone is explaining the special features (which are cool) but not the basics. Help? Anyone? thanks! (using rh 1.0)

it works quite well when you have just one. if you have more charachters then the file becomes too heavy and it take ages to animate!

Could you maybe make an advanced new-duik-version rigging tutorial? Previous tutorial was great with duik! ( i now rig a character in about 5-7 mins, that's crazy!) But now they have new version and things are completely different and new possibilities are on board! :) For example, i think we all want to learn like how to rig a leg from 2 parts, when it kinda not just folds like one peace, but there's signifficant knee that you can see in many cool gifs on dribble etc, hard to explain without picture but i think you got me! :) PLEASE! will donate for you somethin' ;)

I haven't seen anything on forums about CC 2015 being full of bugs... but I did post a couple problems that didn't happen in CC 2014... no one seemed to be like - Yeah I had that problem also except maybe you I guess
