Hi Mt Mograph ! Nice tricks as always, the last one is huge ! For the tip "convert primate shapes to vertices" you have a common bug at 4:05 when you play the animation ! And I say that for the others, i think you know that : The shape doesn't have the proper animation --> To correct that, make an other vertex anywhere on the path of the shape and place your keys again. (sorry for my english)

Great to see you back, Matt! I've been fiddling with the pre-release version of AE, on a PC anyway, and ROI seems to be fixed. No more black screen. You could also use an auto-crop script, and keep the relative positioning at the same time. I submitted a bug report for that wonky behavior that 'Convert to Bezier' shape produces with scaling down and then popping into position on the next keyframe. It's been doing that since they introduced that feature.

Hey with the first tip, you can also just make a mask over the comp that you precomed and then lock that mask, that way you get the same effect but everything stays in the same place

So, there is a bug in shape paths currently that actually got shown here. When you convert the shape path to a bezier path, it isn't registering correctly when you animate the points, it doesnt seem to know what to do...it scales down to nothing then pops back. However, I did find that if you copied the path, and deleted it, added a new path to the shape layer and pasted it, it works as expected. Now if they can fix this and shift+rotation snapping for paths as well I'd be so happy. Sooooooo happy!

+ShodanKid I was going to say the same thing, though I haven't tried copying and pasting the path. Thanks for the tip!

Sadly I already knew 4 of them, still very helpful. The path scale thing also works by selecting your points and pressing the standart cmd+T to transform and it actually also works with masks, yes you read right, with MASKS!

Hi Mate !! Those tricks or quite cool !! Just a little question about the last one ! I've done the same stuff as you, but when the expression is set, the results give me a "coma" with lots of number after (like 99.4566654367 then 100, but I just want 99)... and I don't know why...Do you have any idea how to get rid off those extra number ?? Thanks in advance mate, cheers !

I love your videos man :). But i have a problem. Each time i export in .h264 codec. Colors of exported file are different from the colors i see in After Effects or Premiere preview. On VLC colors are more *contrasty* . but on KZbin they look *washed out*. What should i do to export accurate colors?

highly recommend "auto crop" script...does what "region of interest" does but automatically, keeps the comp in the same position, and it's free! available on "ae scripts" site.
