A lovely part of the world. Last time I was there I did Yankee Doodle and Boltergeist. I'm warming to your Channel; keep it up. I enjoyed your North Rim motorcycle reports too. I've been a regular UK visitor to SW Utah since 1986; so much so that I don't need a map or SatNav! I've flown that area too; flying down I-15 beneath the rocky escarpments each side into Nevada is a privilege. I also know "The one and only" in St George.

The quick .5 miles from the sign (@ 13:57) to the Oak Grove overlook is worth it! Best view in the Pine valley mountains IMO. (though you got a similar view at 21:50) 2 years running that Oak Grove has been closed off in the summer due to fire danger. Not a bad alternative to hike Browns as Oak Grove is harder(faster elevation gain) and almost all of it is exposed. Definitely, a late spring hike unless you camped up top and hiked back down in the morning. Water in Further water is pretty reliable. Seen it flowing in August but i'm sure drought years will make a difference. Great video, great hike!

Appreciate you watching! Water in Further Water looked good, flowing..not stagnant. Hard to know just how reliable that source is but certainly encouraging seeing it flowing in July! Coming back down into the heat we were grateful for the shade from the trees, wouldn't have had that on the south side!

I love the drive up there, it’s really cool to go through the red cliffs desert up into the real mountains. Do you see any snakes up there?

I read that you can also see some of the higher peaks near flagstaff from there on a clear day. Awesome place for a day trip from Las Vegas, maybe even the best. A close second would be the Hualapai mountains.

All that and you dragged a drone up the hill with you too? Wow! Thank you for your awesome vids. My family lines in St. George/Washington/La Verkin. They are always trying to get me to move there... I've resisted so far, but if I do it will be because of your videos highlighting the awesome recreational opportunities like this! Thank you for recording/editing/publishing it!

Subscribed! Great video, thanks for sharing. What precautions do you take or gear do you pack in case of bears or mountain lions? I am assuming they both roam that area. Thanks again!

Thanks for watching and supporting the channel! By precaution do you mean protection?

@@precipiceofgrind Hi, yes I was referring to protection. Also, what about snake bite situations. Just curious overall about how best to pack and prepare for unfortunate situations. I would think that there would be a good phone signal at the top for emergencies but I'm sure there are more remote areas where a satellite phone would be the best source of reaching out.

@@phoenixdynamometer1 I carry a 9mm, a Hellcat. It's very small and easily concealable. Black Bear country I think a 9mm or 38 would be sufficient. Honestly, I've never thought much about Mountain Lions. I also carry a Garmin INReach sat communication device. I've had plenty of run ins with Rattlesnakes and they all have warned me when I got too close. Wearing ankle high boots might mitigate a bite since they usually bite low. My wife got bit on her toe by a baby rattlesnake, almost lost her foot...she was wearing sandals.

Yes it runs year round. I recently have hiked it 3 times in the last few months!

Do you think I should be worried about mountain lions if I'm hiking alone? Or is there enough people on the trails
@precipiceofgrind10 ай бұрын
Well, anything can happen at any time. Personally, I never worry much about cats even though I know they are there and most likely watching. After spending significant time solo hiking in Grizzly country, the only time I think about cats is when my dog is with me. I'm always armed too.
