I think your not understanding the reason, pc players have an unfair advantage over console players with a controller, just look at the dev explain the reasoning for it at 1:37. This has nothing to do with "BETA males" and "queefs". Its plain and simple if your on PC you have a clear advantage over someone on console with a controller.

I dont mind pc/console crossplay but I can confirm when a PC player double guns it causes some kind of funky lag/freeze. Had a PC player on our galleon and we were lagging randomly until we narrowed it down to a really fast double gun shot from the PC guy. He could lag us on command. They need to fix that at least

As a pc player with no understanding of how many pc vs xbox players there are, i like the sounds of the cross play swap as if there are atleast enough players to fill one server, then it should only put you on that server? So you wont actually see less people when you play. Although i do agree other things should be prioritized much above this.

PC player here and Crossplay was why I play.... if the servers end up being empty for me thats no fun and I will stop playing if the servers end up being super pvp focussed instead of random encounters then I will leave.. PC players we tend to be more well hostile... lol most of the people I crew with are xbox players... with one of two pc players.

It was a great idea to be able to allow Xbox casuals to opt out of playing against the sweats of PC trying to act like PC players don't make everything competitive. Plus you get rid of the hacks and exploits PC players do use when opting out of playing with them. Summit contradicted himself many times during this little rant. As for the most toxic community Xbox vs PC that's all up to a coin toss. It's definitely not a game I'd let my kids play by a long shot.

I think the main issue at hand is that the PC community is small already and this update is going to alienate them to the point where encounters are so few that the PC player base as a whole will quit. It has nothing to do with skill at all. I play PC and already can barely find random people to join my crew, let alone come across people in servers as it is. Makes me not want to bother with the game anymore. I like running into / playing / interacting with the xbox players. I am not an extremely skilled PC player and have been decimated by good xbox players before. But I think that empty servers are going to make a lot of PC players lose interest in the game. Catering to the casual player has ruined games in the past and sadly I see this game going the same direction.

The devs have proved themselves idiots over and over, how they should resolve this is make a basic ranking system like every other game has to group players based on actual skill level. Then prioritize putting people in the same rank together on servers. Right now they are chopping up the player base on empty claims based on baseless emotional jumps in logic. The game needs balancing work, but the answer isnt to just group players based on platform. Game has practically no real content, and instead of making content, they refuse to fix actual issues. For example Devils Roar is full of rocky crags that gysers will launch you into. Resulting in players getting stuck in collision definitions, forcing you into logging in and out. Resulting in you loosing a shit ton of work.

I mean I completely understand where Summit is coming from but he also needs to see where the developers are coming from with this. He is complaining that the devs are seeing the worst in him while Summit is also assuming and seeing the worst in the developers. No one is going to play their game is they just feel like they're going to get slapped up everytime they come on. But just being like oh here go play the game by yourself (pc players are only 18%) so making them play on their own ghost servers never gonna be able to find anyone it’s already hard enough anyway, and pc players and streaming is what has brought the game the surge of popularity/updates and things like this you have to thank pc players because they weren’t so fast to fix certain things and make changes before their new popularity. So yes we need console players just as console players need us. If they kill the game for pc players with the update the game will go back to near irrelevance. Taking forever for changes and fixes so don’t take the route of picking sides take the route that makes the right changes to suit both

My Xbox broke a couple months back, So I have had to play PC. I would opt out of crossplay when I played xbox. The "PC servers" are so much easier it's ridiculous lol. Contested at events are barely a thing. The gallies and brig's are so easy to take down. The Xbox only servers are absolutely filled with sweats. Now I understand why streamers think the way they do. It's incredible how much easier and dead the PC servers are. The skill ceiling is night and day between them. So when I see them talking smack about the Xbox users , I give it a laugh cuz I know they'd be singing a different toon if they would put a controller in their hands. We all know they will never see that side.

Xbox players already have the ability to disable crossplay in their privacy settings of their accounts, they just don't know where to find it. Secondly, after playing both PC and Xbox versions, there is a serious advantage of controls of mouse and keyboard over controller. Precision vs clunky. SoT is about equality. Everyone is supposed to be even but controls do break that by Summits admission. This is not the end of the world or SoT. Not only that, PCs also have the advantage of easier, secret communication where xbox forces a hot mic or party chat. I don't think it's such a bad thing as Summit is blowing it up to be. Server population is an issue but only because we cannot see how many are around. That's the mystery of the game, we can be attacked at any time by surprise or head on. I just honestly think Summit is afraid of fighting people with equal talent and capability.

Summit is a pc player, every popular streamer that has played this game is a pc player. Name ONE controller player giving this game attention. Nobody. Summit revived this game and brought a player base to it and made the game fun. Nope, PC players will cope fine if we're forced to fight other PC players, we've done it for decades and will continue doing so. Yeah it will be more of a challange but meh so's the nature of games. The issue is that the SoT player base is mainly dominated by Xbox players, so when you segregate the player base the PC players will be left stranded because there are not a lot of us so we'll be stuck on empty servers.

It just cuts down on content in general. The game in it’s current state is lacking in several areas, mostly with the disappointing loot you get for doing long quests and lack of PvP interaction. SoT currently has no way of checking how many people are in your server and as Summit says they don’t max their servers. So even as their game currently feels empty, they are gonna alienate the PC players even more.

@@vizor4067 where did you hear or see this? Also while I am here. M&K on a computer is pretty amazing. Load times are SIGNIFICANTLY faster and frame rates and all of that stuff are perfect. Console barely has that. M&K support is cool and all, but you would need a PC monitor and some people cannot afford that. But if you aren't bullshitting me, I am excited for M&K support. It may not be the same, but I'm still happy about it.

Xbox crybabies have been crying for 6 months, and just like all the other games in the market casual gamers are getting catered to once again. "I'm bad at a game and can't kill people shit needs to change" Never had a single problem killing anyone using a controller, but again bad people can't accept there bad and want to blame the game. There's no fucking "struggle" admit your bad and either get better or move on; have a problem turning? Max out the sensitivity. Still not enough? Buy an elite controller and control freaks.
