That fact that punishing a cop who runs over a civilian is optional and is seen as "a joke" and "I wanted to troll you" is more proof of the broken system. Qualified immunity literally means, because I work for the government, I'm immune to punishment when I break the law. Literally means that they ALWAYS get given the benefit of the doubt because they have a badge. Unless you can prove they were breaking a law, they are automatically amazing great cops who do nothing wrong even if they literally fucking killed everyone who could testify..... Basically the government plugging their ears and closing their eyes to ignore the fact that they hire rapists, murderers, and psychotic supremacists. Want recent proof? I forgot the city, but there was a ceremony where the city officials gave awards to the best Cops in the department. A guy got an award and then I believe it was the city manager or something that called that cop back to tell a story about how he was falsely arrested by that officer who not only arrested him for no reason, but also fabricated their police report.... of course the manager got out once they found out who he was, but then everything was swept under the rug... A CITY MANAGER had to pick up a microphone in DISGUST because this cop is being praised as some hero when he lied and fabricated a police report because he arrested a black man for no reason.... but he's a cop... he OBVIOUSLY did it by accident since he WAS trained how to do police reports.... or maybe he caught himself arresting a black man for no reason, and decided to lie to everyone to make it seem like he committed a crime in order to save HIS ass. Funny thing? Some of these guys are cops in real life or were trained by cops IRL. Only guy who's been pretty honorable is Troooer Andrew, but he's always been the odd one out of the PD.
