They spent the entire past year putting in the work with huge QOL updates and systemic changes to make sure the foundation of the game was accessible, fun, and more dynamic in how a server can change. They did what I could only DREAM other live service dev teams would do. Instead of just pushing out slop every month to retain players they are ensuring everything they put out is quality and is on the most solid foundation possible. Even if it means players have to wait a year for new content, the game will feel leaps and bounds better now when that content drops. I'm astounded by how Rare after 6 years continues to not only make their game better but do so for free on such a regular basis.

That burning ship is such a 200 IQ idea. Making a super powerful ship, but then adding the fact that if you lose it, or don't cash in and lose the ship at some point, you have a higher and higher risk of losing all that special artifact loot because players will be hunting you constantly. It balances itself out, because its not just 1 ship anymore that you sail arouand forever in being unstoppable. There is high incentive to use the ship, but not keep it. It's absolutely brilliant.

Everything else just destroys solo or duo players. Oh, you're solo in a sloop going against the wind because you're trying to run away from the 4-stack on the Galleon behind? Well tough luck, they have more speed now, because of the wind blower. You have a wind blower of your own? Well that cool, but you better go repair those holes in your ship before you sink, while the galleon uses the same to catch up, misses all the boarding shots and then uses the grapling gun to make up for their lack of skill and board you.

It takes a weapon slot, so if you are using it to board you cant really do much except try and lower the anchor. Any half decent crew will catch the anchor, and then your stuck with one weapon to deal with the the rest of the crew. Just let it come out and then save our judgment for then.

My thought is, this might create cross-ship fleets being created. Like, people might form fleets of 2-3 ships to join together and challenge the flameheart control by players, and then become one single fully formed crew on it.

One thing I can already foresee players trying to do, which would be SUPER cool if it works out the way I think it could : The grapple sniper thing is gunna have a limited range, much less than, say, the range of a cannon. The sniper grapple hook can be hooked onto players. Players can be shot out of cannons. Friendly player climbs into a cannon, teammate instantly shoots the sniper grapple thing onto their teammate, getting WAY more range than intended (say you're trying to board an enemy ship, but they're too far for the sniper grapple thing to reach on its own).

So the flameheart thing is just basically going to be a roaming king of the hill event? Pretty much there will be the regular stuff going on in the game but there will also be the first crew to join that ship and then trying to complete their tasks while multiple other teams try and take the ship away from them and take over. It will be a constant fight to try and maintain that powerful ship and seeing how long you can stay on it. I wonder if there will be some really special reward if you can actually manage to complete all of the missions without losing the ship first or something along those lines.

The wind item is a pick up item found around islands, it acts as an Ashen wind skull and it's not a loadout weapon, the grappling hook seems busted for boarding but I doubt they will keep it that way since it'll come with season 14.

Not even to insiders, and we've seen things change significantly from the time it's given to insiders to the time it releases. I'd imagine the ammo count will have to be fairly low. And if it can hook onto ships there would need to be a readily available counter otherwise players would just launch out above ships and drop straight down on the anchor very easily.

most likely the skeletons are gonna hunt him down on the ship, maybe he could hide in the crows nest but if that's the only safe spot (assuming there isn't a skeleton sniper like the skelly galleons have) players are going to be checking up there for tuckers. guess we will have to do some testing when its out.

I really think they should add an axe to the game that deals more damage than the Cutlass, is MUCH slower, but it is capable of damaging structures on the ship such as the mast, or wheel (but not poke holes in the ships hull).

what i imagine is if the grapple gun counts as a weapon, it basically trades combat power for mobility, like if it takes a slot you cant double gun, also if the wind caller is in play imagine finally getting a board to get air blasted off the ship and using a shot from the gun to scramble back on. it definitely will be an item that will need a tweak one week into the release but with all the previous stuff announced I don't think it'll be AS busted as people are believing on first watch... guess we will have to see when it gets released at the end of the year

with the new ways of boarding ships they're adding, I think being able to place traps on your ship ladders is fine. As a matter of fact I think it's great because now you have to worry about all these different ways a player can board, having a trap to at least guard the ladders for you will be very welcome.

It would be cool if each ship came with a small crew like the sloop with come with 1 skelly crew member the brig would get 2 and the big ass boat whos name idk could get 3 they would mainly work sails and bucket water and repair and defeanding/alerting you when your boat is under attack (not use cannons but cand board other ships and figjt off people boarding you) idk i just feel like this would make exploration and fighting a bit more fun as everytike your deep on an island looting or doing riddles you dint cone back to your boat gone and no loot🤣 edit i got to the traps part and thought it would be cool to have a net gun/bolo gun to trap people from moving fore a few seconds in combat like 5-6 seconds

the net/bola thing is pretty cool but skellys doing anything other than repairing bucketing and shooting with their gun or sword when someone boards is horrible. Imagine fighting someone with half sails and the skellys just go full sails and you loose angle
