When Summit says "i dont think I can do that anymore" its true in a way.. Because I don't think that having balls of steel was something he lost, it was trade off. It was replaced by more important attributes like: - way more composure, great sportsmanship, improved positioning, better strategies, smarter use of throwables, and a lot more intuitive when predicting the enemy's next move... That's a trade i'd gladly take any day of the week! The evolution of Summit IS and CONTINUES to be an inspiration to me ( and many others im sure) because over the years as his popularity increased and the 1G squad grew to what it is today, he somehow managed to become even more humble and empathetic over the years, with an amazing ability to see all of his losses from a 100% objective POV even when the game is clearly broken, or straight up seems like a cheater was involved, then going against the chat that are all spamming "sus", "worst game", "aimbot", "wallhacks" or "cheating" to only putting the blame on himself and listing what he did wrong and how he could made a better decision - eg. He will quickly list ALL the possibilities that could have been the reason looked sus. For me this is probably the most inspirational trait that he has developed over time. We've all been there with a bruised ego and made excuses for bad in-game decisions when we had better options or just simply get out-smarted.

Brings back so many memories. I was in either middle or high school when I started watching Summit. He was good friends with another streamer "anythiNG" who I watched a lot. I think the first game I ever saw him play was H1Z1, but he was still playing CS around the time and he's one of the reasons I got serious about the game. 10+ years and over 2k hours in CS later, I've graduated college, have a career, and still have the privilege of getting to watch Summit stream. May not be CS anymore, but yeah the nostalgia watching this video is crazy. Don't think Jaryd will ever fully understand how many childhoods he has shaped, mine included.

The truth of the matter is as we age our reflexes get slower and reaction start to go down that’s just life, I was way better at fps games When I was 15-18 than I am now at 35.

I think there's more to it. I think we get worse with age because we just don't play games like that anymore. I used to care about being competitive in games but I just don't anymore and I don't play them religiously like I did 5 years ago. I just want to load up a game and chill nowadays. I can't be bothered with getting stressed over that shit anymore so I don't try nearly as hard.

@@willo1345 Sure, however what I found in a quick search of a study (don't know how conclusive it is, and there are things you can do to help maintain reflexes to an extent); "This means a person who is 34 years old is between 40 and 100 milliseconds slower than his/her 24 years old self." 24 is considered your peak on average. That's some scary stuff, especially when you consider just how far people will go to gain a few milliseconds with their hardware and graphics settings. Though, I'd imagine consistent gaming with good muscle memory will help you stay on the low-end of degradation. Stay young fellas! 1G

Dude thinks he isn't that good, but the video only shows his wins or memorable moments and not all the bad games he probably had. I'm sure someone could easily make another best of summit1g csgo in 2023 and make it look as good as he was in the video above. It's all about just cherry picking the right clips.
