Those suggesting that they have to get the car repainted+clearcoated before wrapping the car again are incorrect. The wrap really only cares about a quality smooth surface (that won't flake away) whether it be paint, bare metal, or a combination of both. Getting a near perfectly smooth surface is the key.

Hey guys! When you get the Ferrari repainted, try to go with ClearFX to protect the paint after. It will bond to the clear coat chemically so that is stays permanently. They’re in the same parking lot as the Complex at the Gateway in SLC;) (and yes you can still wrap it)

Wow...I can't believe how good that black looks, the purple really didn't suit the Ferrari well. However, it's also a good thing you discovered all the repainted panels sooner than later. Now that you know about all the imperfections, it could have saved you from an embarrassing episode further down the road such as another wrap or clear bra or what have you. As for the money, well, exotics will do that to ya...

Have James help you, since it was his peer pressure to get into the Purple Squad. Just do a video with him and split what it makes on his channel after a week. That should do it. Instead of repainting the car(professionally), why don’t you just wrap it in a high gloss metallic/pearlescent black? Isn’t that cheaper and you have to worry less about the paint and getting scratches since you can peel it off and then re wrap it when it gets damaged?

@@bumtracksNew you dont put black shoe polish on a super car. They have the problem of the paint comming off because the person who fixed it last time didn't do a good job. If you want a problem fixed the fix it right bubble gum fixes dont work. That kind of stuff it ok on a old or cheap car but if I'm buying a Ferrari I want to know that the owner isnt the kind of person to put shoe polish on their car because if they do that how do you not know there isnt something bigger it shows the car wasnt taken care of.

@@cartersanford449 You hit it the nail exactly on the head. That's why Clayton and Faith got the Ferrari so cheaply, because the previous owner was wanting to cut costs. However, by cutting costs, he actually decreased the value of the car, so by putting in proper maintenance and care, you get to increase the value of the car. Who knows, after this proper paint job Clayton and Faith might have increased their car's value by at least the amount it took to do the paint. This is just a blessing in disguise.

Most paint jobs are usually covered by a warranty if they were a reputable company, I have had some body work done in the last few years and have been given a certificate that shows the quality of the company and lists the paint used the batch code and they name of the person who sprayed it and it was under warranty for 5 years and the warranty was with the car not the owner. It might be worth checking with the place you got the car from or in your paperwork.

Good luck on the quotes, definitely sucks when you need to get paint work done. A few years ago I went through a sandstorm in my 1996 Dodge Viper GTS requiring a complete repaint as well as the replacement of parts like the windshield ($1,000) and both headlights ($1,400) and the grand total in California Bay Area (probably higher shop rate than Utah) was a little over $14,000. So if you were to do a full repaint of the F430 (might be a good idea considering the age so that the paint will fade at the same rate in the future) should be under $10k. Unless of course you do a color change and the jams get painted as well, and then all bets are off as more work has to be done to prep and more surfaces to paint.

Hey just an idea I don’t do wraps but grew up in a auto body repair shop that my dad owns and I remember back in the day we would use a heat lamp that was on wheels to heat the panel after spraying it maybe something that you could use instead of a heat gun just set it by the panel you plan on working on and have it heat the wrap before you start on it

Ey! Dont pay between 5k to 10k for that, the guys at the paintshop are going to see you guys pull out in a Ferrari and they will overcharge you with some insane amount just because of the brand of the car, buy the stuff (like 500/1500$ in paint material) and give it a shoot! You guys have all that space to do the work! The hardest part, is to understand how to mix the paint, how to apply every coats, how many times to wait between each coats, how many time it take so the paint is 100% strong, what to use to make sure every surfaces clean. Why wetsanding is magic for small repair. After that, you learn how to buff a car. Try to find a old painter at a paintshop or a good painter on the internet and offer him 200 to 400$ to teach you each step & what to buy at the paintstore. You guys got this!

That's the second best way to cook a fillet. The best way is to Sous Vide them at your preferred temperature of doneness, then sear them in smoking hot Avocado Oil for about 30 seconds per side. That is the best way to cook a fillet! Once you've done that, you'll never cook them any other way.

If you guys want to save money in a sense unless you have an amazing painter. Paint shops can charge am arm and a leg for painting black cars because color matching is so hard. Not to mention seeing and having orange peel in black is the most common. Hope this helps. I also think that the Ferrari would look killer in the Satin Vampire Red. Also also it would be wise of you guys to wait to have it painted. Most paint need a temperature of 60 Fahrenheit at a minimum to set properly. If they have a heated booth that it good but still the paint takes up to a week to cure fully in which you want it in a warm place otherwise you risk more damage on the paint and more money out of your pocket

Please restore the interior of your ferrari. It honestly looks pretty bad and is extremely shiny. A company in the netherlands called stiptpolishpoint (check their insta, they transform supercars/classics etc to factory new condition. Amazing work) sells interior matte cleaner. Their own solution to make the leather perfectly matte and clean again like new. They also sell a special brush for it made from horse hairs and they have a leahter protect solution. All very cheap and diy and they are amazing. Used it also for my friends c63 amg and the results are crazy. Will make for some nice content for you guys also.

What if Instead Of completely cleaning up the paint prior to wrapping, We put down a coat of wax, or even ceramic coat, anything between the wrap and paint. Will that protect the paint even if we sacrifice longevity of wrap? Or could that trapped “protection” damage the paint?

Love the vid, I hope you don't think because it's a Ferrari it will be more expensive to repair. A car is a car to paint no difference, if the paint shop says it's more expensive go find another shop. When you get there look at the shop is it messy and dirty and unorganized also find another shop. A paint shop should be clean and organized and well lit, darkness hides a lot. Maybe ask a friend (a.k.a. Stradman) I have worked in the automotive industry for many years, if the work place is dirty and unorganized so is the work. Keep up the great work

This is why wrapping a car is a bad idea. I wrapped my car 10 years ago and the same thing happened when I decided to unwrap it. “Professionals” say you have to use high end wrap to prevent this from happening but I think it’s a bunch of bs. I will never wrap my cars ever again.
