I'm so happy for everyone involved that this YT channel has gotten so popular. Obviously, the rikishi are lovable, but there are 2 people who are probably overlooked that deserve a lot of credit. First, Futagoyama Oyakata had some real PR/marketing savvy by agreeing to have someone outside of sumo regularly create videos that give the entire world an inside view of life at his stable. Secondly, Sakaue-san is a very good filmmaker. I've watched the YT channels of some of the other sumo stables - some of them with more famous and popular rikishi and with English subtitles - and these videos don't have quite the reach as this channel. I think that's because of Sakaue-san's film-making style. He takes very tight, up-close, personal shots, and he doesn't cut himself out of the videos. This makes you feel like you're with him and that you're there inside Futagoyama Beya becoming friends with the rikishi. He also knows how to ask interact with the rikishi to allow them to show their personalities. The other channels' videos use wider camera angles and don't have the same level of interaction between the rikishi and cameraperson, which always keep the the viewers feeling like outside observers. This channel is great work, and everyone involved deserves all the popularity and support that have come from it. Thank you for allowing us to see the daily lives of the rikishi. お疲れ様でした!

I agree 100%. There is a very special feeling in these videos that is completely absent in the videos of other stables, even if they have a visibly bigger budget for filming and more famous rikishi.

Noting my agreement. This channel has lightning in a bottle. The feeling of genuine interactions between the rikishi, what they're doing, and the cameraman comes across very well. Much much better than the almost corporate energy anything I've seen from other beyas has.
