I have an old 300w model of this with no limiter, it works from direct battery feed but you are correct - if you overproduce using a non-limited/monitored GTI you may end up paying for it! Nice video.

Now they need to add an option to always keep a load on the meter, make it adjustable if possible. Make it so there is NO back-feeding at all. Also wouldnt you need two wire limiters for 110v? Perfection with the first option and the second would be an added bonus!

Where did you connect limiter sensor? The 120 v has one sensor, does the 240 v have two sensors? The problem with using a 240 unit in America is you still have only one sensor and we have a split system of two 120 v circuits!

The sensor in these is somehow in the unit. I can't figure out how they would do that exactly, I'd like to see it put to the test. I'm looking into it.

Did this just stop the meter from moving when needs were met or still turn it backwards? I'm looking at the 120v version for my house here in the US and I've been curious about this unit. How's it working so far? Also, I'm the event of power failure on the grid, does it shut down and not supply to the grid (if you've encountered that yet)? Just curious

I have the 240v version on order (will run a 20amp breaker at 220v. house is normally 120). I think there needs to be a bit of clarification. If you DON'T Enable the Limiter, it CAN potentially spin the meter backwards (providing you are producing more power than using) if you meter is old enough/physically allows the meter to spin backwards. When you enable the internal/external limiter then it will only invert based on the current sensor.

here jn the Philippines where the DU is unfair(if you export power they will still bill it out to you). this is the good stuff. btw we use this with batteries :) making it a hybrid( well kind of ) inverter.

What happen with the produce energy from the solar when the limiter starts working? Where does the difference between produced energy from the solar and the consumed energy by house loads go? Is it dissipated as a heat in the limiter?

Well this is how it works. The Grid-tie limiter demands the power from the solar array to cover the house loads. If there isn't a huge load demand in the house, the limiter restrict excess power from going back to the Grid. By doing that it cutoff the solar array from producing excess power. So if I have this 110v unit connected to the wall and my AC unit compressor is 240V then this unit will not offset my AC unit draw and I will not be saving any money with it? only the 110v loads will be offset?

Your is wired in 110V AC and 220V AC. If you have a device that is demanding 220V AC, the device is just demanding two legs of your 110V AC lines to run your device. Otherwise the application still work without loosing anything and you will be fine buddy.

The newer smart meters do spin backwards. Digital meters like the flexnet with wireless meter reading. I have one on my house. The power company can reprogram it to actually measure in reverse for a proper bill credit. I get a 17 cents per kwh bill credit when in reverse and buy it back at night at 11 cents per kwh.

The reason I ask, is because I'm already net metered and have a 3.3kw GTI running to reduce my bill.
