My brother passed away recently in a tragic way and about two years prior he requested that we play this song at his funeral if anything ever happened to him. We played the whole track with a slide show while it was playing, I stared at him in awe because of how peaceful he looked. He looked like he was just chillin. In musical bliss with his eyes closed...and all my anger, hurt, fear and heartache just melted away. I too was at peace while this song played. So now, this song will forever have a special place in my heart. RIP Jr. I’ll see you again someday.

Going to class the next day all gentle and calm because your smoking buddies were there as well. Meet up that evening, watch something on my big old grey TV with a small antenna on it. When I listen to this, I feel like the end has come. I go over in my head what happened, who I wanted to become and who I ended up becoming. I think about the correctness of what happened, but I don’t think about what could happen after. A very unexpected feeling for a track from the menu of an indie game.

Every time I hear this, I am on a emotional rollercoaster. I suddenly feel sweating hot. I feel bright orange light shining through the thin skin of my eyelids. I feel melancholic. I feel sorrow. I feel gutted. Sometimes it hurts so much I think I'm gonna puke. Sometimes I just cry. I feel like something has been taken from me. Think about the death that took my loved ones. Think about that happier times that seems happy just because the time that passed. Maybe I am just in delusional spiral, mixing up my life with Hotline Miami. I want this song on my funeral. Funny how a simple pixeled game with a great soundtrack can somehow leave bigger mark than popular 3D tittles with cgi from another world.

I can't really connect this music to a beach scenario. More like being in an eternal adventure. Going from one city to another in your old trusty car. Working, or stealing, as much as needed to stay alive. For a guy from central Europe this sounds like a dream, a beautiful one.

(hotline miami spoilers) This song imo fits Hotline Maimi so perfectly. The Bongo drums and sounds of the beach fit the tropical city aesthetic of Miami and Hawaii, while the echoey synth and vocals are impending a sense of euphoric doom, that being the nuclear war, thats about to break out. that was probably so corny

Everytime I listen, the only emotion that comes across is sadness. It really just brings about a reflection upon a past that desires to be forgotten by thou who rediscovered it. Or perhaps it truly is symbolism for the end as intended. That's all a mystery whereas only the artist would truly have the correct meaning.
