Hi, Here in Brazil, hydrated lime is used to protect Cladodes from the sun, diluted in a proportion of 1 kilo to 10 liters of water and applied with a costal pump.

I always use 40% sand and 40% vermicompost+20% soil......best and economical so far...

Compost in potting soil is good for the short term, bad for long term. Top dress with compost.

I actually credit the UC Pitahaya/Dragon Fruit Festivals for distributing cuttings and getting growers started.

True, they shared as well and even with Elk Creek. I said that because Elk Creek helped to start Wallace Ranch, Oceanside Dragon Fruit, Delight Dragon Delights, Sun Dragons, and Heritage Farms to name a few.

Hey paul. You mentioned about sands. What type of sand did you used? Can I get them at my local store? Thanks
@RAREDRAGONFRUIT Жыл бұрын
I use the sand at Home Depot or Lowes that is by the gravel... It says it is safe for potting soil.

I'm up in the Central Valley. Really hot summers 100o +. I have some sunburned plants but they are growing well other than they have thin stalks. Do you think the thin stalks are a result of water frequency/amount, fertilizer, or sun issue? Thanks.
@RAREDRAGONFRUIT Жыл бұрын
Could be many things, but sometimes dragons make small branches the first season and then makes thicker branches as the roots develop more and the plant matures

How about decomposed granite for the drainage instead of just river sand.

Yes, and also because it splits early when ripening and isn't as sweet as some of the other undatus varieties we grow.
@sundragonfarms9806 Жыл бұрын
It does seem to grow slower than other varieties. Our plants are just now starting to bud. I’m excited to see the flowers and try the fruit for myself.
