Sun King's Salvation Normal and Sun King's Salvation Heroic guide! Sun King's Salvation is a raid boss in the Castle Nathria raid of Shadowlands. This Sun King's Salvation boss guide will show you the Sun King's Salvation abilities that you'll see in the Normal, Heroic and LFR versions of the Sun King's Salvation fight. Mythic Sun King's Salvation has additional mechanics not shown in this Normal and Heroic Sun King's Salvation guide. Footage of Sun King's Salvation for this boss guide is from PTR raid testing and some mechanics may look different or change when the Castle Nathria raid releases on live servers starting December 8th.
The key to Sun King's Salvation is staying on top of add spawns and minimizing the avoidable damage you take, so your healers can focus on healing Kael'thas. This is a healing fight- the objective is to restore Kael'thas' health. Non healers can help by channeling on the Soul Pedestals found near the front of the arena, just mind your health while you're channeling, and do your best to finish the channel unless you're about to die.
There are seven different types of adds in this fight if we count Darithos, and it's likely that some if not all of them will persist during the second phase with the Shade of Kael'thas. No matter what type of add it is, though, generally we want to loose spread while trying to CC and stack up the adds to cleave down. Multidot classes are going to have a field day on Sun King's salvation.
When Bleakwing Assassins are pushed to 30% and start their Return to Stone cast, hard swap to them and finish them off before they full heal. Otherwise, kill Vanquishers and Soul Infusers early, Vile Occultists middling and Pestering Fiends are lowest priority. Thankfully, not every add spawns at once. Interrupt the Vulgar Brand from the Vile Occultists and mind that the Essence Fonts they drop get healed to full, it's great value. After Soul Infusers die, healers need to pick up the orbs they drop for healing buffs to help out.
Against the Shade of Kael'thas, you need to stay on top of the phoenixes (by CC and killing them) while staying behind the boss to avoid cone attacks. On Heroic, you may need to step away from the big cone at 100 energy. When the Ember Blast soak attack appears, send the target and a handful of helpers off to the side to soak so the pool is not dropped in melee.
