Thanks man. It has been fun learning. I moved this summer and it slowed my roll. I'm shooting to get back up to one a week.

Some corrections: Sun Peak's Mount Tod was NOT named after the resort's founder. John Tod was a Scottish fur trader in the area in the 1800s and an employee of the Hudson's Bay Company. The Burfield Chair and Burfield Lodge are named after one of the co-founders in 1961, Harry Burfield. The run Monroe Ridge is named after another co-founder. Mount Morrisey is not a beginner area but rather it is mostly intermediate runs with several black diamond runs on the north facing West Morrisey. Same with Sundance Ridge, not beginner, mostly intermediate runs.

I'm planning a trip to either red mountain or sun peaks this year. Where would you go?
Added a link to my review of Red Mountain. If Red Mountain had high speed lifts I'd choose it easily over Sun Peaks. I enjoy the quaint setting of Rossland. Red is more affordable and feels like a step back in time. I personally would choose Red, but if you want more turns an hour Sun Peaks.

Sun Peaks is not for powder hounds, its for speed freaks. You would be hard pressed to name a resort in North America that spreads skiers out better than Sun Peaks, so look down a run, no one else on it, go as fast as you want.... Ski Canada Magazine once called Red the best tree skiing in Canada....so lots of powder at Red but being in southern B.C. and lowish elevation, Red can get rained on or wet snow.

As someone who has skied Red and is a Sun Peaks local I'd totally agree with Daniel Taylor's opinion.

Great review, please turn down the sound effects. Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm slowly getting better at the sound stuff. Bought a new microphone, and that helps. I think I should buy better speakers. Sometimes it sounds good and then when I post it certain sound effects get really loud.

@@bluebirdski A good set of headphones should help a lot :)
