Loved this, thanks!! The Sunshine Ligustrum is truly an amazing plant. I have them growing in the front bed along our porch railing and along the garage forming an “L” shape. There’s a flower bed in a pie piece shape in front of them (curves with the sidewalk up to our door). At first they were little balls of yellow with a fluffy appearance. Now that they are probably waist high, I trimmed them into a formal hedge shape (like a boxwood). Even when they start growing and looking fluffy, it’s still a very pleasing look with the cottage flower bed in front. Great recommendation!

Stephanie, you have me worried. I just planted dragon prince cryptomeria in a full sun, western sun, bed in NC zone 8a. Should I move them or can I just make sure I keep them watered? They are zone 9 hardy so I was hoping I'd be okay planting them there. Thank you!

My Sunshine Ligustrum has turned a dark green and is no longer the yellow color which is why I bought it. It is in the sun. Any ideas why this happened and do you think as it grows it will be yellow again? I just bought it in September, 2020.

Hi Jim, can you talk about planting in high wind areas? Wind just whips across my small front yard, and has absolutely destroyed some Abelia I planted. A small holly has some holes, might be from wind and leaves. My Autumn Lilac is surviving. I’m trying to figure out what to do with that space.

Unlikely. Even if it survives, it would likely defoliate every winter
